Look at the rust that developed during the bye in the reg season.
Although they say since they started picking up the pace in practice a sense of urgency has remained.

Sure you lose the advantage of being more game ready for the next game, but you don't run into the risk of injury in the extra game and, more pressingly, you don't run the risk of losing and not even be given the chance to be rusty in the divisional game.

I hear what you are saying, and I agree that we came off the last bye rusty as hell. Only problem is that if we don't have the bye we aren't playing at home in the playoffs (I think). Playing at home in the playoffs trumps any worry of possibly losing our fire and drive to win. I'm picturing the Big Cat in the stands at home for the playoffs and I hope our team is keeping that in mind as well.The Panthers are hitting on all cylinders right now.
