Russia tests Obama

Um...You do realize who our current president is...

Yea, but by the time the Russian ships actually make it to Cuba, Obama will be president.

Actually, given the Russian Navy's performance over the last few years, Obama might be on his second term. :)

Seriously, it will be interesting to see how Obama responds. In the past, when Russian ships visited Cuba, the US would tail them at a distance of about 3-5 miles and move in closer if they come close to US waters. Will Obama have the US Navy use the same tactics as in the past, or will he have the Navy just ignore them?

Seeing as the last time this happened was during the Cold War, I would hope that we would not feel the need to be as aggressive today.

Tailing them at a respectful difference is not aggressive. I imagine they expect it. If they decide to do what the Russians use to do, enter the Gulf of Mexico and edge close to US territorial waters, then you might see us get aggressive.

But more than likely, we will overfly them a couple of times, and that will be about it.

I think this is just the beginning to how much they are going to press Obama...Nothing unexpected though.

He'll pull them aside and ask them why they are there and what they are feeling. Then he'll give them a hug and ask them politely to go home

We're doomed.
