Sean Payton's Vicodin

We need to dissolve the ACC

Recommended Posts

The truth is, shitty teams like Clemson and FSU will be in the playoffs every year just because the ACC is poo. Look at how the winners of the ACC (either Clemson or UNC) struggled against South Carolina, a God awful SEC team - and the SEC sucks this year! Send Clemson to the SEC West, and FSU to the east, and the rest of the teams to the shitter.

We should dissolve the SEC.  Florida nearly lost to a Sun Belt team (FAU) as well as a bad Vandy team that had seven yards passing late in the game.  They also struggled with South Carolina and beat a mediocre Tennessee team because their coach does not understand when to go for two points.  Let us not forget struggling with a below average Kentucky team that just lost to a middle of the road ACC school.  Despite all of this they are one win away from being crowned SEC champs.  Send Alabama to the Big XII and the rest of the teams to the shitter.

Over the next few years the College Football Playoff is  going to put a dent in the reputation the SEC has. There is not as much difference between the top teams in the ACC and the SEC as a lot of people would like to believe.

The real problem is that there's way more parity across the conferences than TV producers want you to believe. "Power 5" means nothing with respect to which teams are the best, but it remains a primary consideration for ranking the teams.

conferences are a double edged sword- they give us a good ballpark range of how good a team is but SOS gets inflated when you make assumptions, i.e. SEC is the greatest thing to ever happen

All this talk about UNCs strength of schedule and no mention of Ohio States SOS being 5 ranks higher before we even play Clemson. Why doesn't it matter with OSU?

They don't have two FCS wins or the horrible SC lost. They've been saying it out loud for the last 2-3 weeks and that was why we were ranked so much lower then the other teams with similar records.

The ACC has some terrible teams and the SEC has some terrible teams this year. This is a down year in the SEC by all accounts and actually a pretty good year for the ACC with two teams in playoff contention. That said, the SEC recruits far better than the ACC and will likely get back to being a better conference as a whole within the next few years.

To say we need to dissolve the ACC is foolish, obviously. They are most likely going to a be a conference with a team competing for a playoff spot annually, maybe 2 teams every once in a while.

2 FCS wins are irrelevant by the sun belt stats already mentioned in one thread here. Teams have a better record against sun belt than FCS teams. Also it's not our fault Tennessee has a bunch of pussies that backed out. That would have been 3 power5 teams non conference. Tougher than almost any team in the top 10.

I don't agree with it, but listen to the committee and it's clear as day that those two FCS games is the biggest reason.

Honestly, the biggest reason is we are UNC and our primary opponent for the final spot should we win and Stanford lose will be Ohio State.  If Ohio State and UNC flipped resumes the Buckeyes would still be ahead.  They pick the teams they want and then they look for ways to justify it.
