UNC vs. ECU Preview

I didn't see that, sorry.

Stacked?? I don't think any team in the ACC is stacked. I think They both got QB problems, Nesbitt isn't even a Quarterback IMO all he does is run the ball (32 Rushing Atts - 25 Pass Atts).

Not quite sure why I said they both had QB problems, Harris is a stud.

Miami is quite good.

Jacory Harris IMO had a softball thrown at him in the FSU game and I admit that Nesbitt is mediocre at best. But all other positions for both teams are approaching NFL level talent.

GaTech doesn't need a stud under center with the offense they run and their defense being as stout as they are.

I believe they will too, if the O-line holds up, that is. I don't know exactly what to expect in this particular game, but they should get Dwight Jones back next week and Erik Highsmith looks more like a junior than a true freshman so far, so I expect the passing game to get better.

And for the record...ECU is not an easy game at all. They hate us and want to destroy us just like NC State does, so you can throw records and rankings right out the window this week.

and they still have CJ Wilson, against the banged up line, he is probably drooling thinking about it right now

I'll be rooting for the Pirates like always, but I don't think they'll be able to get it done. Should be a pretty good game though.

I am pulling for my Pirates of course but honestly do not know what to expect this season. I am not seeing the offensive firepower I am used to so....no predictions, just want to see a great game!

GO PIRATES

At least Carolina got their offense going a little bit. If it weren't for that damned fumbled snap by Blue and a lucky jump ball by ECU, Carolina would be blowing them away.

The best thing is that Boyd, Adams, and Highsmith are all making plays today.

Why can't you just admit that ECU made some good plays? They also missed out on a few picks as well. Its a good win for you guys but don't disparage ECU by saying the plays they made were all luck...

    • Steve Beuerlein's pointing about not holding on to the ball so long was interesting to me. Some of you who remember when Beuerlein was here will remember that he took a straight beating in '99 and '00 and he also had a tendency to hold onto the ball for too long. It might be smart for Cam to listen to someone who had 21 surgeries from football injuries because of this. I love me some Cam and I want to see him as the starting QB for the Panthers for a long time to come.
    • As an LSU fan, I've seen nearly all of Fournette's games and he is the real deal. He was the best running back on the team. It does not take a genius to run the read option running attack and most of the work is on the Qb. I wouldn't mind either but Fournette should be taken if he's available.      My pipedream is for us to trade next year's 1st and both 2's for us to get a Fournette and Howard combo. I think it would be worth it.
    • I'm surprised that people actually buy into this idea that our offense is going to look drastically different. I'd be shocked if it does. I hope I'm wrong, but a leopard doesn't change it's spots. If Shula had the ability to adapt he would've already done it. He is who he is and this offense is what it is. If you want real changes you make a change at OC. We didn't and we'll see an offense that looks far more familiar than different next season.
