The Chargers are expected to announce as early as Thursday that they plan to leave San Diego for Los Angeles in 2017, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. I spoke with Rams COO Kevin Demoff about the possibility of a second team in the market a couple weeks ago. Here's part of what he said: "If we do our job correctly, a second team should only heighten the NFL excitement in the marketplace and build on it. I don't think it takes away. I think it just enhances it. But it's still dependent on -- you have to be playing winning football, you have to be exciting, you have to make your brand entertaining and relevant. I think that's true whether you're the only team in the market or whether there are two or three teams in the market."

Change name to Super Chargers!

LA doesn't have enough people to fully take care of two NFL teams, IMHO.

Difference in NYC is that people actually care about football enough to support two franchises both of whom have large fan bases in the NY/NJ/CT Tri State area. Los Angeles barely gives a damn about football or the Rams, Chargers will have a hard time attracting fans, even with SD a short 2-3 hours drive away..

LA sports fan is a giant joke, even worse than Miami sport fan. Member how happy all la fans where when the Rams came back?? About week 6 they all turned their backs completely.

LA doesn't have the money like some think.

But Chargers had no choice and the city made the right call.

Go read the sports economists blog and see the inner workings of stuff like this.

Miami sports fans are horrible lol, I was there while the Heat with Lebron were playing in the finals nobody cared. Wait till they find out how bad Las Vegas sport fans are...the stadium will be packed with all visiting team fans for every game with Casinos giving out box seats to high rollers. Zero home field advantage for the Raiders.

OKC would have been a cool town to have a team.
