McCaffrey is the kind of player that if you pass up on him, you're going to regret it. If we pass on him at 8, we'll get to regret it at least twice a year.

You can take him in the lower part of the first. NO won't take him at 11.

I'd love to see us come back in and grab him late in the first. And if he's there at 40, then we'd be idiots to pass up on him.

I say we should get him, but it's Highly Likely DG will pass up on him unfortunately... Yet I hope, he grabs him because they are and should be super afraid of their Defense or lack of defense

This guy will most likely go to a late round playoff team. Or to one of the basement teams drafting in the top 5 of round 2.  Only way we pick him up is if he falls to the 2nd if management is extra extra high on him and we didn't get an RB in R1 they could theoretically pick him at 40 or maybe trade up a few spots in the top of the 2nd to get him.

I think he's a great player who simply doesn't fit our system. We have one of the most unimaginative OCs in the NFL and I have a lingering suspecion he'd just continue to be an idiot and run McCafrey 99 percent of the time on up the guts runs that Stew does with regularity. McCaffrey obvious doesn't have the raw power that Stewart uses to fight throw multiple defenders every play. But he does have incredible footwork and great burst/vision.

I'm so glad some of you guys aren't gms lol you don't draft a player with any type of.question marks at number 8,  you draft starters.    Late first rounder at most.

I'm still on the thinking that Dave jumps back into the first. It's very possible that he takes Howard and then jumps back up for McCaffrey.

Actually he could do that with a lot of players. Defensive end and then another tightend, safety and then Cam Robinson.

Who knows-- I just think Shula and McCaffrey are ingredients for disaster.

Colonel Klink had problems figuring out Percy Harven and he's light years smarter than Shula,...

Tell me more about these perfect prospects with zero question marks...

I would be upset if we used a pick on him in the first 2 rounds. He will only fit a certain style of system. Could be great with Brady, or brees that could utilize his speed and quickness. But in a system like ours he would never work. Not the bell cow type. Reminds me of a Darren Sproles type player.

There are many 3 down starters whose game translates better to the nfl.  Why would anyone think us drafting a 3rd down rb tweener at #8 overall is a good idea.  We never have thrown the ball to our.rb, we don't even utilize screens.   He's a good prospect but you don't draft him #8 overall.

    • I have to apologize to @TheRed , not for what I have said, but most certainly how I have said it. He was right that this isn't how I normally post and my passion for the subject matter got the best of me and left me with the just the worst. I should have said, "Please, you have obviously got an informed opinion and a desire to get the best out of this country we share, so don't pass up on your opportunity to cast a ballot. It doesn't have to be for every race, but find someone or something you can get behind and put your votes there." One single vote may not matter in a presidential, or even gubernatorial, election, but don't let that turn you into thinking the voter doesn't matter. Look, act and vote local -- these are the races that have the most impact on your life and where you have the most impact, too. A change at the local level does reverberate up the ladder, it is how all great movements start. I won't get on you or anyone else about not voting again, but please, in exchange, could you just commit to casting a ballot next time your local elections roll along? You are full of smart ideas and are passionate about a number of issues, don't let that go to waste. You might very well actually improve things. And Lord, we sure do need that, don't we? Once again, my apologies to @TheRed and @NanuqoftheNorth for going above and beyond in calling you out. You deserve a better shake than I gave you.
    • I wouldn't say he made him look bad, just expendable (and overpaid).
    • Good let them. Will just allow other good players to drop to us in round 2-4
