Who's Ready To See Some Of This?

Recommended Posts

Lol, the great JP losing a step would still be a very good DE. I'm not sure that he's lost that step. I look forward to seeing him play with Star and KK. I can't remember him playing with DT's as good as they are. This will be very interesting and I wouldn't be the fool that doubts what is coming. Yes, they should fear us.

Me! Wow, the Falcons, Bucs, and Aints have nothing on us. Our D isn't old, we have veteran leaders in key places. We have Short, Lotulelei, Butler, Thompson, Worley, Bradberry, and Boston. All young and quality players. Plus #8 pick in the draft. Pep may be past his prime like Allen was when we picked him up, but remember what happened that year? Don't forget we have the best QB and MLB (that's middle linebacker not Major League Baseball) in football and an upgraded o line. Oh and also one of the best WR in the league will be back to 100%. KB!!! And I haven't heard anything about losing Stewart, please update me. I imagine you are talking about his history of injuries, I hope he doesn't get hurt but with a better o line his excellent blocking isn't needed quite as badly. CAP will be ready, if not we will pick up a FA rb.We should be pumped up as fans. We headed to the Super Bowl, and will crush the Failcons and their young d for 8 regular season quarters, just like the Pats did in the last of the SB. This one is for The Big Cat and TD! (Thomas Davis not touchdown, just to clarify for the negatives on here trying to bring us down) We have lots of reasons to be optimistic. Pepper's said he wanted to come back to make things right. I for one believe him and welcome him back. Great post and pic. Panthers SB 52 Champs, this is a Panthers board, stop being so critical of people, everyone isn't a football genius like you think you are. I suggest if you enjoy trolling visit some political forums. Gettleman for President 2020. KEEP POUNDING

You have to temper your expectations with a 37 year old player. I think he'll be productive but not anywhere near the game wrecker people are expecting him to be.

And if he is, I'll gladly eat my words.

I'm 41, better, stronger, smarter, and more experienced than ever. Can't do the job all night anymore, but I get the job done better than ever. I'm expecting the same out of Pep on the field. I will say 10 or more sacks for him this year.

Jarred Allen and Julius Peppers have nothing in common.  Then, now, ever.

Julius will get at least 8 sacks this year, book it.  How many did JA get with us?

I don't regret us having Allen in 15 but what did he really do?

All this complaining about Peppers age when he had almost as may sacks last year as anyone on the panthers defense that was second in sacks. Players like Peppers have a place in this league and still play at a very high level

The Panthers pass rush was not a weakness last season. They were #2 in the NFL with one of the best sack percentages. I believe getting rid of Ealy and Soliai and replacing them with Peppers and Love will be an improvement against the run. Now, the only weakness in the run game on the DL is Butler. That will make for an easier time on the LBs. The combination of Soliai, Butler, and Ealy all on the line at the same time was an invitation for an easy drive by the opposing offense. I am glad that garbage is gone.

The issue still remains that opponents have an easy out to the sidelines against the CBs in the running game, screen game, and passing game. They MUST stop opponents from converting 1st downs by stopping the runner for a short gain or forcing a turnover. The Panthers could have the best front 7 in the NFL with 2 all pro safeties. None of that matters if the CBs can not hold down the flats and stop 1st down conversions on 2nd and 3rd down.

When the Panthers outside CBs can make teams pay for playing outside the numbers like Tillman and Norman did in 2015, or Munnerlyn and White did in 2013 we will see a dominant team. Until then, we will see a team that allows opponents to stay in the game going into the 4th quarter with a tendency to lose leads late in games.

Love it, we need a good fb now that Tolbert is gone. Sign him up, and if Johnson can't go with his back then we are good

We are a lot older on defense now. Atlanta is young as hell on D with a lot of good players and team speed. Dave still has work to do.

If he drafts one young DE,  one young S. With speed. We'll be as good if not better. The interior line is young. The LBs are young, except for Thomas Davis. The secondary is young except for Adams. Add young guys with speed at the positions of age and we'll have a young hungry defense.

Those fan bases have every right to believe in their teams. They have solid teams believe it or not. Julius Peppers isn't what he used to be and isn't going to send our defense to a whole new level. Sorry to tell you that.

Our defense is the best in the South and will be Top 5. They do have something to worry about. Everytime Gettleman goes out there and puts some good vets on defense to go with the young guys it works. Just imagine how Luke is going to be behind this dline. Ur crazy if u don't think they have something to worry about!!!!

I just can't let myself get hyped. I have to see it to believe it. Our history hasn't given me any reason to do otherwise.

Well if ur going off history Panthers will finish with a great record and make the playoffs. They have never had back to back winning seasons so that means we should go at least 12-4. I know ur going to say we had three straight titles. But look we have never had back to back above .500 seasons. So this year should be great!!!
