I have a feeling this is really going to hurt people in need of immediate help especially in California. I have actually come to the aid of people in bad car crashes twice in my life but both times I was unable to do much since one was pinned in his car so bad the bottom part of the dashboard was going into his thighs/legs and the other was thrown from her car and already laying flat on her back in the ditch in a somewhat safe position.

Still I talked to them and was ready to wrap them in sheets if they started showing signs of shock. Now I wonder if I will even approach the situation. I need to check on NC laws. Good samaritan laws are supposed to protect us.

Thats so messed up, had she done nothing that she probably would have been sued for something along the lines of failure to act. One thing I hate about this country is the ability for someone to sue another for basically nothing. GIRL BE HAPPY YOU ARENT DEAD!

I wonder if Jerry, Elaine, Cosmo and George are still in jail?

My, but western society does love to sue people, doesn't it? :(

One of my biggest pet peeves, and ironic given that both my brother and his wife work for lawyers.

^ha
Why, my brother is a scumbag lawyer!

Yeah, I always found "good samaritan" laws hilarious, and utter b*llshit.
Twice I have gone to people's aid in the real world, and both times I pondered whether my assistance would cost me my career.

Sad, right?

Both times I was also with my wife, two trained surgeons with years of experience between us, both ACLS and ATLS trained, and both times the first thing we did was look at each other and contemplate, without speaking, just with a glance, if we should even get involved.

Really, really sad. But when helping someone could cost you your livelihood you think twice.

I guess Tom Cruise was right. Only scientologists can really help.
