Just watched it again.

Best horror movie of all time.

Why is it no one can touch it 30 years later with all the fancy CGI crap these days.

Ranked third behind "Jaws" and "Alien" on the "Scariest 100" list (discussed here).

Objectively, I agree it's one of the scariest of all time, but I can honestly say it never scared me all that much.

There's a movie coming out soon called "Paranormal Activity" that's supposed to be really scary. Looks a little like Blair Witch.

Agreed. Unfortunately nowadays horror movies confuse "cheap thrills" and "sideshow pop out antics" with real horror.

The scariest thing about Blair Witch was how many people liked it.

Should be more appropriately titled "Abnormal Marketing".

Yeah that was good too. I agree with Zod about The Exorcist though...great horror flick. I mentioned it in the other thread, but The Exorcist still creeps me out.

Based on the same story (a German girl that was said to be possessed and had an exorcism)

Way too many movies today think that gore scenes and torture equal horror. Doesn't work for me. To me, suspense equals horror, and you can't build suspense just by showing something unpleasant.

I think Ex was also one of the most profitable of all time as well.

I agree its not the scariest horror movie, but its the best horror movie. Lots of different elements weaving in and out of it.
