So I booked a gig in Negril, Jamaica in February.

Please post tips and advice. Never been.

It's a little touristy, but you have to go walk up the Dunn's River Falls. It's really a blast.

And just a general tip, in market areas, look out for the merchants; they're crafty. And if they ask your name, don't tell em, because without fail they will carve your name in one of their products and throw a sh*t-fit if you don't buy it. Plus pick-pockets. Just be careful in the markets is all.

But it's a gorgeous country with some amazing people. You'll have a good time.



Waiting for the inevitable recommendation to smoke some weed, but there's more to the country than that. Try to enjoy it sober

I can attest to that. Lots of petty thieves, con artists and hustlers around the markets. They can be really pushy and intimidating.

When I went, anywhere outside of the resort reminded me of Detroit but with overall much nicer scenary, palm trees, water falls, etc. but with more pick pockets, drugs, and people begging for money.

My stepson and I went on a tubing trip up in the rainforest and it was fantastic. Away from the beach, cool and beautiful.

Stay in the resort area and you will be fine like JR said.

I got married at Sandals Negril seven years ago today. I'd love to go back sometime.

You should go check out Rick's Cafe and watch the people cliff jump into the water. Also, the sunsets there are awesome.
