Recommended Posts

More Cam Newton drama.

This time, it's not him that's the problem.

An apparent stalker has been following Cam Newton for a while.

A Charlotte-Mecklenburg police report lists Carolina Panthers' quarterback, Cam Newton, as a victim in an apparent stalking case.

The woman showed up at Panthers practice on Wednesday around 11 a.m. and asked to speak to Cam. She was then asked to leave and not return, according to the police report.

Newton says the stalker had shown up at the stadium previously and had been asked not to return.  The suspect was told not to contact Newton in the future.

So...yeah.

Nothing like a week full of zero distractions before a road game followed by a Thursday nighter.

I remember a long time back, A lady ran onto the Cowboys practice field trying to talk to Troy Aikman.

Might sound like a harmless groupie, but this was shortly after a crazed fan of Steffi Graf had reached out of the stands to stab Monica Seles in the back. Everybody was pretty much on high alert then.

Honestly, if a random person just shows up at a sports facility saying "let me talk to famous athlete", there probably a good chance something's not all there.

Honestly, this team needs to quit looking for excuses to not win. These “distractions”, especially ones blown way out of proportion, are a poor excuse to show up and not do your job. Grow up and play ball.
