Does white privilege exist?

We all got problems. We should be allowed to deal with them. But try going to a county DSS office for help and being a certain color. They laugh at you.

Broke-ass white people have it harder than you will ever know. Not because of skin color. Cancer and insurance companies don't care. But apparently DSS workers do.

Well that's kind a like a man who complain about sexism and how the system works against them but not complaining about how the system works against women you can't complain about that and not complain about the other side is more so people believe the stereotypes that people push and push and push so they don't think you need this help. that's where I say again   People don't honestly understand what people mean when we say privilege because they automatically assume no problems whatsoever and that is not the truth.

I should add that I'm as white as the new fallen snow and had cops draw weapons on me twice before I was old enough to legally drink a beer.

And if you were black, they might have just blown your fuging brains out.

White Privilege is being so detached from violence at the hands of the state that you applaud it.

I've talked my way out of some sh!t. was it because I was I was white? or because I showed respect and didn't want to be arrested?

Philando Castile also showed respect and calmness, yet look where he is now.

I still can't blame cops, as much as others want to. Some people just can't treat people like people, so probably shouldn't be a cop.

sure. whiteness doesn't mean you are privileged, it means the obstacles you face will never be related to your skin color, whereas that's not the case for people of color. super simple

I think this is a very simple yet spot on take.  At a macro level  I think it starts to dissipate as we have more cross pollination of races.  I've seen it quite a bit in workplaces over the past 15-20 years so from that standpoint there is room for optimism.

But I think there are still huge chasms when it comes to inner city policing. Hard to console a grieving mom with the macro level bull poo above in my first paragraph.
