The snow will have been gone by kickoff, and it looks like the weather will actually be warmer than what a 1:00 kickoff would have offered. All the talking heads on the pregame shows have picked the Giants nearly unanimously, placing the Panthers in familiar territory as underdogs.

Eli has to deal not only with a group of unreliable receivers, but winds to increase the difficulty of making completions. Delhomme has the experience and the real Steve Smith in his arsenal.

Jacobs is coming off an injury, while the Giants and their fans have practically placed this game all on his shoulders. Carolina's gruesome twosome are only getting better as the weeks progress, and they have an excellent receiver core to relieve pressure should the Giants' defense stop the run.

Minus a few O- and D-line familiars, this is adding up to be the kind of Carolina victory that we've come to know and love over the years. Let's hope history is damned to repeat itself.

I could say that the #1 seed (hopefully Carolina) would go on to win just like the #1 seed from 2003 (New England) did, and history would still be repeating itself.

It would kind of be weird if we did, and won it all. The first number 1 seed to do it since we were beaten by the cheatriots.

I don't think it's going to be warmer than it was at 1PM. Looks to me like increasing winds and 25 degrees for kickoff. It's around 35 degrees right now. Long FG's are going to be tough to come by.
