Mr. Scot

Updates on the team sale

If you want to draw more people to games, lower the damn ticket price, not build a gazillion dollar stadium and charge more for tickets and parking.

This is not about drawing people....people already pay to go...it’s about fleecing more from them when they are there

I'd agree, but I'm not a billionaire.

Neither is Sabates, he's a millionaire puffing his chest trying to play in a billionaires club

That Mitchell guy from CLT economic council is already a loser, saw that today when we didn’t even make top 20 Amazon...CLT city council is clueless as well...I have zero confidence in their ability to make something good happen with this or anything else

if anyone is worried about Bruton, best be more concerned about Marcus...Bruton is old, and CLT just dissed Marcus on his soccer idea

felix likes to be in the headlines, and while much of what he says may be calculated to leak, he is not pulling the strings here

yes stadium is factor, but only as long range...10 yrs down the road

we can all blame France for nascar downfall, losing regional tracks, holiday races in California, etc....not all his fault...driver retirements, young fans not taking to the sport, expense of sponsorship all factors....but nascar does have a huge TV deal

still waiting for belks and Levine’s to play their hand...they have got the frog you $$

Some Charlotte people think they're the center of the universe. I've experienced it with car clubs and running groups. If the stadium gets moved out of uptown I'll get hernia surgery from laughing.

All news owners are going to want a new stadium to maximize their profits. And because of the shiny new toy thing too. Both.

Maybe, but when all is said and done, they'll have the Raiders and Oakland won't.

If folks think that couldn't happen here, think again.

For God’s sakes, it WILL NOT HAPPEN HERE.  Oakland is a motherfugging dump, has a motherfugging dump stadium from the 60s, is second fiddle in the Bay market, and is one of 4 teams in the broke state of California.  Leaving 15+ million football fanatics in the Carolinas and growing, corporate Charlotte with a 20 year old stadium and NOWHERE to go?  NOT.

It's better to just simply renovate the stadium. Replacing a football Stadium with something along the lines of an MLS arena is stupid.

Yes and no. Those things are all true, but a stadium deal would 100% be a reason the new owners would try and move. But I doubt it comes to that

Lowering ticket prices doesn't get you parking revenue, additional concessions and big money major events.

A fancy new stadium can get you all of those things, and the inflow of cash that comes with them.

He's not claiming to be the majority owner, though.  Nor has he identified who is.

Sounds like it's gonna be France.

They could build a new stadium. The Panthers couldn't play there. Unless they refund every PSL owner.
