Whole Wheat Pasta WTF

whole is better than multi always. multi products usually just have the bad grains in them.

I love holes, doughnut holes are the bomb........oh never mind...wrong hole.

Whole grains are better carbs ... they have more "dietary fiber," which means they're better for you than regular pasta. (Take the grams of carbs per serving, subtract the grams of "dietary fiber" listed, and you have the "net carbs." The less the better, especially for diabetics and others who need to lower their carb intake.)

There's also a pasta you can buy in some stores, and online, called Dreamfields Pasta -- they make all kinds of noodles, including macaroni, spaghetti, and others. It is high in dietary fiber, and is recommended by nutritionists for diabetics. The diabetes education nurse I worked with when I was first diagnosed highly recommended it, and it tastes great. Looks more like "regular" pasta, so those in the family who are skeptical about the wheat/grain pastas will never know the difference -- it's better for them as well.

I ate half for dinner and half for lunch today. I'm good on the portion sizes. I'm just curious if wheat pasta is really that much better than regular pasta.

Yes it's better for you, but if it just says wheat and not whole wheat, you might as well just buy regular.

whole wheat is so good for you General Mills and other cereal comps are putting in most if not all cereals.

When it comes to food, the more color or has color, the better. White foods are FLAT OUT not good for you.

Do a search on the Mediterranian Diet(sp and I don't care).

And southcak, while changing your diet just keep finding a way to get some good cardio in at least 3 days a week.

Eh.

I still contend the average American should be more concerned with how much food they eat rather than nitpicking about whether his or her bottomless pasta bowl from the OG is filled with whole wheat, cream of wheat, wheeties, wheatabix, cracked wheat, wheatever.

Once they drop the first 50 to 75 lbs they can start getting concerned with WHAT and not how much.

Eat a lot less and exercise more.

There is a reason the average American complains bitterly about the itty bitty foodplate he/she gets at furrun restaurants.

Because he/she is used to supersized whatever.

Does it really matter if you eat the whole bag of baked Doritos vs. regular?

Yeah, if you run marathons.

check the ingredients, if it says enriched....fill in the blank....flour, you might as well be eating regular stuff. Look for whole grains - be it whole wheat or whole whatever else grain. Can't help you with taste though in case you're asking which tastes better.

Winner.....don't let the multigrain, 12-grain, etc on the front of the package fool you.....

    • You miss the point. Taylor was here before. We picked him because of what he could do for our wide receivers not because he had some great knowledge no other person had on the staff. Shula and Rivera and Gettleman studied multiple college systems for months before signing Taylor or drafting McCaffrey or Curtis and would have drafted the same whether Taylor was here or not. They liked the way Taylor developed McCaffrey which showed his talent but Stanford's offense wasn't Taylors idea or unique to him. Shula has a connection to Taylor as early as when Shula was at Alabama.  The debate was whether Taylor was chosen to replace Shula because Shula didn't know what to do to run a college offense and if he screwed up Taylor would replace him. And that Taylor was the reason and most influential in getting McCaffrey. I said it wasn't even close to the truth and this plan predated Taylor and was more thorough and we'll thought out. Everything since then just confirms I was right once again like usual.
