Word is Cleveland is pushing hard to acquire Kemba Walker from the Hornets tonight.

Yeah, I'm being patient and holding my breath.  Kemba could be gone soon.

I just don't want JR Smith.  If we can net two of the following three: Shumpert, Love, the Brooklyn pick, then it's a win.  I'm just having a hard time finding a decent scenario without a 3rd team facilitating this and us netting a lottery pick if they aren't giving up that Brooklyn pick.

Do you have any facts to back that statement up? Anything at all? Or are you just saying this poo?

Yeah I don't know where this is coming from, I haven't heard of any issues with Dwight, and honestly, he's not the issue, he's mostly playing exactly like what we signed him for (better actually compared to previous couple of years).

Yeah, I like Proudiddy a lot, but this is complete horse poo if I've ever seen it. He doesn't have any facts to this at all. He's just basing it off of what's happened in the past with him. Dwight has played amazing compared to how he was in the past 2-3 years.

Sorry if you guys are fans of Dwight, I tried to be once we got him, but the team just feels different since he's been here.  No, I don't have any concrete evidence or source that he has destroyed the locker room, but I'm just going off of reports as recently as his tenure with the Hawks plus things I've observed since he's been here.  There was a thread somewhere here in the Hornets forum where earlier in the year during a game, he repeatedly kept grabbing the rebound, Kemba would call for the outlet, then he would look dead at him, ignore him, then proceed to dribble it up past halfcourt court before passing it to anyone.  I kept thinking it was odd, but hadn't passed judgment yet, as I had seen him do it multiple times since the start of the season.  But, then, whatever game that was, right after he did it again, Cliff called a timeout and was visibly angry and IIRC said something at Dwight.  When the team came over to the bench, Cliff grabbed a dry erase board and started to draw something up, and Dwight got up out of his seat and walked out of the huddle.  Cliff stopped what he was doing and ripped into him, Dwight returned fire and apparently Cliff benched him coming out of the timeout as a result.  None of the media reported on it, mostly I suspect because our local Hornets coverage sucks ass, but I watched it, plain as day.  In fact, that may have been the last game I watched because it was clear the wheels were falling off.

I've also watched Kemba in interviews now, and he seems absolutely miserable.  It's a lot like his demeanor when Lance was here...  He doesn't say anything to give it away, but it's there...  And then there's the fact that everyone who played well the last 2 years is all of a sudden struggling.

Also, when I pointed that out that sideline blowup here on the board, multiple people added that they noticed him do similar passive aggressive stuff in other games when the offense wasn't being run through him or when he wasn't getting touches.  Ever since that time, I've seen people cite how well he is doing and how high is efficiency is etc., so yes, I find it awfully coincidental that his production and efficiency go up while the guys around him struggle in contrast to their previous production.

So, yes, I'm deducing some things there based off his previous behavior, but I think there is plenty of evidence there to support my claim if you watch the games.  I didn't like Dwight since the Magic stuff, but didn't deny his talent or ability...  So, once we got him, I was stoked and hoping for the best.  But, it has played out kind of how I expected.  I was hoping he had matured as well, but for there to be reports out there that once he was traded the Hawks players celebrated, is pretty telling.

***And I'd be remiss if I didn't say that YES, I know Clifford is the biggest problem with this team, but we're apparently stuck with him.

I think there was growing pains early on the season.       I also think we're spoiled with Kemba, being a star but doesn't act like it.    Most of the stars in the NBA are babies and think they are special, and Howard is probably no exception.     Outside of Kemba, no one on this team is consistent or was even when Howard wasn't here though.   Batum was always a mixed bag, a beast one game, 10 turnovers the next.     Marvin had a down year last year, etc.     While I'm not saying he's bringing people down, I'm just saying it's not like they were the model of consistency before Howard, in fact, this team has none of that and hasn't for a while.

I think everyone knew Howard would bring his issues but personally, I think he's been way more low key than I ever thought he would.     If trading him to help the future (or try) happens then I get it, but I don't see us trading because of other issues.

Howard has been everything I had hoped he would be, this season.  We've desperately needed a dominant big man who can finish at the rim, rebound on both ends and protect the rim on defense.  He's done all of that.  The problems that plague this team, this season, are the problems that have existed for the entire Clifford/Cho existence:  poor coaching, lack of talent due to repeatedly missing in the draft and a general culture of complacency.  From the top down, no one is being held accountable for this disaster.  Dwight Howard is far from the problem with this team.  Don't make him the scapegoat for an organizational issue.

Well, I'll defer to you on the more recent games, as I quit watching somewhere around that game...  I actually think I tried to watch a few after, but a few more 4th qtr collapses and the same old Clifford sh*t (i.e., Monk never playing), and i gave up on this year.

I agree, we have been inconsistent and I pretty much agree with everything else you said...  I just think at this point, unless we find a way to get something at the 2 and 3, then Dwight isn't going to help moving forward, but I could be wrong.  I think some of my issue with him also stems from a lot of people citing his efficiency, but it doesn't translate to team success.  Not that all of it should be on him, but if he was still a true star in the league, we should have improved from last season, having already had Kemba coming off an all-star season.  I admit I'm hard on him, and maybe unjustly so...  it's just hard to accept that a team I thought would be top 4 in the east on paper has had the season we have had.

I still think with the talent this team has it should be top 5 in the east, so I honestly put 100% of the blame on Clifford, I just do.

As I said, I know I'm quick to jump on him, and a lot of that is due to his issues going back to Orlando, LA, and Houston...  that being said, I couldn't agree more about Clifford and Chi.  I've been asking for Cliff to be fired for years now.  And I loved Chi for his ability to pull off amazing trades, but his inability to secure talent in the draft and FA has been the reason we are where we are.  He either needs to be fired or they need to find an assistant GM to come in and handle everything but the trades.

I’m fine with the player, but why do it? If he was unhappy with playing time, will Cliff play him here over Frank, Marv, Zeller and Dwight? Unless something else is going to happen like another trade I don’t understand the move.

Ok to touch on a few things in this thread.

WHG: I really like this pickup. I think he would be a great cheap backup Center. Cody is being paid as a starting Center and should be the future center unless we get lucky in the draft and can pick up one of Ayton, Bagley, Bamba.

Dwight: He has played great for us in my opinion and has played into having actual value. I think Cliff was hoping he could take us to the next level. The problem is that he doesn't fit with the players around him. We have no knockdown 3 point shooters which is necessary for a player like Dwight. I just hope that we don't trade the Dwight expiring for sorry players to try and win now or late picks. Just wait it out and get 23m off our books.

There is mad truth in this but we are still in desperate need of scorers.  Kemba & Lamb can only do so much and Cliff never gets the damn rotations right.

Our 3 is still a main issue; without Batum (who sucks, but he's our scoring threat/starter there), MKG and whoever else will just not cut it.  We need some form of perimeter shooters at 3, 4 and 5.

The fact that this team can’t find one guy who can be a go to perimeter scorer while other teams seemingly pull them out of their asses every night bugs me so bad.

I blame a lot this on Clifford. He doesn’t seem to want scorers, just well rounded guys who are ok at everything. I also blame Cho because he should be better at composing a team unless he defers to Clifford there.

Clifford only cares about defense. If we lost a game 10-2, he'd be thrilled we held the other team to 10 points, not pissed that we only scored 2
