rice is stupid, unless that's your only carb and sugar. same with pasta, and bread,  and potatoes...

I eat brown rice and whole wheat pasta pretty often. As long as the whole grain is included in the product, it's good for you. White rice is basically sugar.

Trader Joe’s has a brown rice and quinoa pasta blend that is damn good.

Not all cereals are bowls of sugar glazed flakes dusted with candy & marshmallows.

There are a good amount of sprouted whole grain & millet versions of cereals on the market that contain less than 1g of sugar per serving at around 150-200 Cal ( Millet contains even less)

DIY- You can prep a large batch of Hulled Millet for the week, then each morning portion it out and top with seasonal fruit, for a breakfast porridge, hot or cold.

Lentils?

They have a great nutritional profile and are extremely versatile.

They cook up a hell of a lot faster than dried beans too.

White rice in moderate amounts, helps those who have digestive issues.  Brown rice has more health value, but is harder to digest, especially for elderly people.

tbh for carbs, I'd rather eat a baked potato over rice, any rice and pasta.

Baked Potato with a pat of grass fed butter, a dollop of Greek yogurt and sprinkled with fresh chopped chives.

I love pasta of just about every kind, but avoid it for the most part.  Baked potatoes have no appeal to me.  But I do like a baked sweet potato.  I usually eat it plain, but with cinnamon and little bit of butter, it becomes excellent.

Hmmm. Does it mix well with a red sauce?

I’ve gone carnivore and feel amazing. Noticeable gains in the gym, no GI issues, BP is down to 110/65...

Do you mean omnivore?   If you are eating as a carnivore I highly doubt you are healthy at all.

If you are serious about being on a carnivore diet long term - I will say it was nice knowing you.  You are going to die an early death and it will be your own fault.

Even the inuit people who ate almost only meat (lots of raw, and hoofs, bones, guts - which I doubt you are including at levels needed if at all) ate the contents of their kills stomachs which mainly contained vegetable content.

Any move away from processed foods to whole real foods will give you great health benefits especially short term.   A long term switch like that will have major long term effects unless you are eating a lot of raw liver and lots of the animal parts americans usually dont touch.
