North Korea Summit

Recommended Posts

As this approaches we still have no details of what the US is asking for from NK.

But today we learned our state run media in the form of Sean Hannity will be going to NK for reporting on the summit.

Sebastian Gorka also attending and perhaps special appearance by Dennis Rodman

I expect this to fail miserably for several reasons, most notably because Donald Trump is involved. A man who somehow got a lot of people to believe he is a highly successful businessman, which is a reality TV show myth. And with Hannity reporting, I'm sure we'll all have an unbiased and truthful media source telling us what is really happening, right?

Other reasons include:

  • There is no definition of "denuclearization", which makes negotiations a little difficult.
  • NK will obviously demand a withdrawal of US troops and their nukes from the peninsula, which isn't happening.
  • US will want unfettered, anytime, unannounced visits to NK nuke sites, which isn't happening.

If anyone believes NK is simply offering up their nuke program without asking for anything in return is a complete moron... but then, Trump and Hannity are leading the way, so complete morons are, in fact, going to be in attendance.

Gorka =‘s bad news bears. That dude is dangerous to our national security. But guess buying steel from our kindly Canadian neighbors is a worse threat.

State run media and the US shouldn’t exist in the same sentence. Constitutionally.

only the best!!

Trump has no clue.  He is just going to do his standard bullshit routine and probably get fleeced by Kim Jong.

Reality is Trump probably wants to help normalize another insane dictator or it is just a pointless distraction.  I mean he was supposed to get prep this past weekend at Camp David but apparently Trump just knew too much.   Apparently he lectured Canada about burning down the WH as a reason for tariffs.

I don’t think diddly will be done there.  A first talk.  Trump will want to extend the nothingness.   A man with no plan going to just setup the next meeting

Rumors from the NK side have only been to open a burger joint and a casino opportunity at this point.

LOL at them giving up there nukes.  There nukes just gave them the long sought legitimacy they always claimed they would get by having them.   They would only denuclearize if the world did with them.   Kim Jong has already outplayed Trump.

Casino? Really? With what money?

Oh wait is this trump trying to get back at the 5? The only place he could open a casino is North Korea? This is laughable.

My understanding is NK has a “tourist” area on the coast.  Rumor was they would be willing to open up a casino to people that wanted to invest there as a sign of good will.

Wonder what Xi, the Chinese government and the triads are going to say about that.

I don’t think there is a single thing Kim Jong Un has or will propose that hasn’t already been passed by Xi.

Remember Kim Jong literally went to China after the summit was agreed to and before and of these rumors began coming out about what NK would propose

Xi is playing the good uncle right now. Obviously and I hate to say it but the sanctions hurt NK. When their boats can’t dock anywhere. They have a hard time moving poo.

You know he wants the peninsula.

If they can turn the hermit kingdom into something better than what it is currently and not give up anything, then more power to them.

Bringing the little man into the world community can't hurt.  But don't give up anything unless you get something.  Trump supposed to be the great negotiator, we will see.

Again, talk of Nobel stuff is silly

Sanctions do hurt NK.  But there people in a sense are use to it.

NK isn’t going to denuclearize for sanction relief alone.  They have already said as much.

China just doesn’t want a unified Korea.  China doesnt want us on there doorstep and will ensure it doesn’t happen.  China is content with what has always been.   They probably will aid NK make us look bad and to help set them up as a more legit nation in the end in order to keep somewhat of the status quo IMO

Trump being a great negotiator is the definition of fake news.

He never has been.  Literally nothing in the world suggests that except for Trump’s own BS lies and marketing of himself.  Per those that know business man Trump....he fugs up easy deals and that is his m.o.  Has he made good deals? Technically yes, for himself...by fuging over NYers, contractors and by being willing to be corrupt.  In no way does that translate to honest deals between nations.

Hence why he has no deals of yet.  Only destruction of them and alienating our allies.

Even bad deal makers at POTUS have made deals at this point in a Presidency.  Trump has none.
