So NY is going to sue on grounds they are due to have federal reimbursements for their high taxes.  Lol. No case.  The law doesn’t target a state.  It’s a cap at $10,000.  It does not limit the state’s ability to raise or collect taxes.  Gonna be fun to watch this.  Fed coffers just increased.

If rich Dems consider it their civic duty to pay astronomical state income taxes I don't get why they would feel entitled to deduct them on their federal tax forms. Seems like hypocrisy.

To be fair, you have a blue state that is putting in WAY more tax money than the red states (who are just taking out usually) and have a red government that has zero of their interests in mind.      Same with California.     Those states should pull the same "omg socialism is the devil" and say the red states need to take care of themselves lol.

If we choose to use this logic why not take it to the individual level and creat a “you get out what you put in” model?  Same rationale, what could go wrong?

i myself see many unintended consequences.

So tax write offs should be a function of the state’s gdp?

Because its easier for leftists to talk about "red states" who get more than they pay in.  Suddenly freeloaders on society who take more than they contribute are a problem for them.  You'll never hear them use this logic on individuals for extremely transparent reasons.

I don't mind helping the less fortunate.    I find the hypocrisy from the right, since their states are the ones that take advantage of benefits more than any other and for some reason Billy Bob is against welfare when most of his family is using it (he knows he won't lose it since it is America but tows the guns/God/Murica line because his daddy did and facebook memes tells him so

I would be for this, but only so the large portion of the right wing voters would realize how stupid they've been voting for the party that favors the top 5% their whole lives.

I'm not sure, I'm just pointing out a fact is all.
