Soccer....

95 posts in this topic

I like soccer. But I mostly only watch the world cup. There isn't anything like it in all of professional sports. Think college sports on a world-wide level. They play with the same passion and pride. Can't wait for the next one next summer.

Baseball is fuging boring and I played it.

I'm sure it's great excercise and a 'team' sport but I have never gotten into a sport where the final score is 1-0 or 2-1.

I mean, I played when I was young. I understand the rules. The low scoring thing really doesn't factor in because I enjoy baseball and hockey and the Panthers.

I agree with Smoot (did I just say that out loud?)... soccer is about on the level of baseball for me... I've played both, and baseball a lot growing up, but watching it is not for me... yeah, I can watch the World Series, and I can watch the World Cup if the US is playing, but that's about it... just too hard to get into.

Go find a bar that is full of English fans watching the World Cup next summer and you will love the sport. If you're in Charlotte Jack's is a good spot.

I never played soccer and I love it.

But then again I'm not a mouth-breather.

World tournaments are fun to watch.

Otherwise, you might as well pay attention to the grass growing on the field because there's more action there.

Different strokes for different folks.

The rest of the world pretty much loves soccer, it is about culture, what you grow up with, the tribal unity/bonding/tradition type stuff.

Same can be said for American football here.

As a tot (ok tater tot) I played soccer and was quite good at it until I grew into a football/rugby body
