I say no. It's bread and you will dry it out much faster. I like my bread to be soft and supple. Not dry and without any taste.

The starch in bread changes if its refrigerated. Freeze it if you want to keep it longer.

Why would I freeze bread? We almost always get the buy one get one free deal, leave it on the counter and it's gone within a week or so.

We buy two loaves at a time for home, freeze one, and throw the other in the bread box...
Frozen bread thaws right back to it's perfect softness overnight, and lasts just as long as it would have if not frozen...

Can I hijack this thread? I had an instance come up that I never realized was an issue...
Bottled ketchup.. Do you keep it in the fridge or in the pantry?
Personally, the wife and I have always kept it in the fridge after opening it, but I never really liked cold ketchup...

Bread does not belong in the fridge.
I will not allow bread to take up space in my fridge that could be occupied by beer.
