-Look at other cities that named their team and are similar in size to Charlotte: Tampa, Jacksonville, Cincinnati; all of which are the bottom 3 in filling the seats...Can add San Diego to the list, but San Diego is much larger than Charlotte.
-South Carolina sends thousands of fans to every home game. There may be more North Carolina fans, but there is no doubt that the Panthers would be in another city if it weren't for SC... Greenville/Spartanburg comes to mind, because it is close to Charlotte and is expected to be one of the fastest growing cities in the country over the next 10 years.

anyone who thinks it should be Charlotte Panthers or North Carolina Panthers are delusional.

Agreed ... except a point of clarification. "Greenville/Spartanburg" is not one city, it's two.

the Charlotte Panthers.
So an already small fanbase becomes even smaller?
Hows the Charlotte Bobcats working out for you?
You dont hear any of the Hurricanes fans in Raleigh saying" It should be the Raleigh Hurricanes"
And you dont want to either cus the "Raleigh" Hurricanes brought the Carolinas their one and only pro Championship.

The end zones could be painted to look like denim and we could have real denim lining the lower bowl. The logo at midfiled could be a denim pocket with a Skoal ring in the middle. Free jean coats to the first 20,000 fans to enter the games.

there are panthers in the eastern part of the state around the inner banks area, I think last sighting of one was about 2 years ago but they are here it's just a very rural area so not many people see or hear about sightings.thats the part I never understood about the Panthers...when I think Panthers, North Carolina really doesn't jump to my mind...I mean, is there a big panther population roaming the wilds of Raleigh or Charlotte? Please, fill me in on this name selection. I am with panthersphan, I think it's cool when teams are named after something that represents the city, or the region and the panther thing just never made sense to me.
