there is no filler in asoiaf. that's the entire point and you're just too small minded to grasp it

nothing fanboy about it. the series was intended to be the way it is, and everything matters. just because you can't fit the piece together don't mean they don't belong.

go back to reading terry goodkind, you'll thank yourself for it.

I agree. The action has slowed down quite a bit in the last two novels, but there is still plenty of plot driving and character building going on. He is weaving together all of the elements that were once separate, and slowly bringing them together for the final confrontation. The reason it is so long, is because it is such a large world and so many in depth characters and agendas.

If someone thinks that it is filler, it is because they arent paying attention, or they have lost interest. I have a feeling that some crazy poo is about to go down in the next book, and that it might be the best one yet.

No, there is filler, and it sounds like you think yourself some grand thinker that tries to find connections in places they don't even exists. You sound too small minded to comprehend it.

Either way, it's still one of the best fantasy series of all times, whether people think it has filler or it doesn't.

If only he could get the next book out sooner.

i don't think there's anything you could cut from the series to abridge it and make it better.

maybe if you just wanna read about tyrion and jon snow all day.

they cut what they could from the first novel for the tv series, and it suffered for it. hell they even added more material that wasn't in the books.

I'm still gonna be pissed if Jojen and Meera don't make it into the TV series (at least season 3 if not this one)... THE REEDS AREN'T FILLER, DAMMIT!

If you spent the next year(or two) reading nothing but the books on that chart you would be doing yourself a huge favor.

There are a few on there that I don't care for but are important works none the less and I'm glad I read them.
