there is no filler in asoiaf. that's the entire point and you're just too small minded to grasp it
nothing fanboy about it. the series was intended to be the way it is, and everything matters. just because you can't fit the piece together don't mean they don't belong.

I agree. The action has slowed down quite a bit in the last two novels, but there is still plenty of plot driving and character building going on. He is weaving together all of the elements that were once separate, and slowly bringing them together for the final confrontation. The reason it is so long, is because it is such a large world and so many in depth characters and agendas.
If someone thinks that it is filler, it is because they arent paying attention, or they have lost interest. I have a feeling that some crazy poo is about to go down in the next book, and that it might be the best one yet.
