Ballantyne wants to keep out mixed-income housing. Thoughts?

Huh?

I don't see who's going to suffer as a result of this deal. Unless you're basically admitting you bought into a castle of cards on a pillar of sand by the ocean.

To take a page out of your book...

Huh?

I haven't bought into anything. I don't own a home in Ballantyne, so the market value stuff won't have any effect on me or mine.

And if you can't see that people are taking an immense amount of perverse pleasure in seeing the aristocrats/bourgeoisie of Ballantyne squirm uncomfortably at the idea of low income housing around the corner from their million dollar plus home, then you're not paying attention.

Hell, if you want to delve deeper, we can: Elizabeth is boarded by THREE below-market neighborhoods. THREE (Cherry E, Grier Heights SE, Belmont NW). Nobody complains there!

There were loads of multi-million dollar homes in the center of Elizabeth the last time I was down there too.

I'm laughing more at the idea of what Panthro is Google imaging to find these pictures than anything.

Also, the longer the WASPs of Ballantyne fight these kind of issues, the longer the rest of Charlotte will perceive the area as a soulless, Stepford-esque bastion of cookie cutter craptopia with no discernable character or redeeming value of any kind.

And that's likely to keep them up all night, I'm sure.

That and the sweltering heat from the asphalt radiating from all the Red Robin and Starbucks signs.

LMAO. Like they would, or should, give a crap about what the rest of Charlotte thinks. To hell with what the rest of Charlotte thinks.

The have-nots will always hate the haves. But Obama is working to take the haves down a notch or two. Those evil bastards!!

Low income neighborhoods would not have the stigma they have if police would do their job the same in those areas as they do when they are in better areas. Reduction in crime and jobs to keep people busy are the answers to these problems.
