So what would happen if we took all the money we are throwing away overseas fighting wars and instead took the very same money and gave 100% of it to small businesses as interest free loans?

Al Qaeda would regroup and we'd get hit again within a year. Next question.

Will you say the same thing when we get hit again while we are over there?

Well if we get hit again while we are over there, it would stand to reason that they were planning on hitting us, right? So wouldn't it also stand to reason that we were right to be over there trying to prevent it?

Actually, what would happen would be that Al Qaeda would go after the local governments in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait etc... in an attempt to topple them and set up a caliphate. Its unlikely they would succeed, but a few successful attacks would cause the price of oil to shoot up. And meat is likely correct in that they would also be in a position to go after us more easily. Doesn't mean they will not go after us now, it would just be easier.

Obviously not, since it didn't stop us from getting hit.

there are currently 100 companies in the states that are SITTING on nearly 1 Trillion in CASH. Why can't they loan or do some venture capitalist stuff?
But, yes, getting some soldiers and oher assets back here is helpful. Keep in mind those guys will be looking for work. So the US still has to produce stuff.

"The people who say there will be a bloodbath are the ones who said it would be a cakewalk, it would be slam dunk, and that it would be paid for by oil. Why believe them? They’ve been wrong on everything they’ve said. Why not ask the people — why not ask the people who advise not to go into the region and into the war? The war has not gone well one bit."

put it into healthcare instead. 14 september 11ths worth of people die every year from not having it. kind of makes the war seem silly when we kill so many more people at home than the supposed cause for war.

when the numbers are human lives, hell yes it's a numbers thing. republicans have no problem with 45,000 Americans dieing every year as long as it's not muslim people killing them.
