If the NFL had a fantasy draft

11 posts in this topic

For kicks and giggles. If the NFL decided to have a fantasy draft this year (excluding potential rookies) and the teams order of picks was decided at random, who do you think would be the NFL number one pick? To spice up the question, the teams have to pick by skill sets first. IE..Offensive ballhandlers; QB's WR's RB's and TE's. Offensive linemen. Defensive lineman. Defensive "skill" postions; LB's, FS's, and SS's and CB's.

I say

#1 Offensive ballhandler: Aaron Rodgers.

#1 Lineman: Jake Long

#1 Defensive lineman: Jared Allen

#1 Defensive "skill" player: Darrelle Revis (bet you didnt know he is Shaun Gilbert's nephew)

#1 Ballhandler: Drew Brees (Hurts to say as a Panther fan, but how can you pick against him?)

#2 Ballhandler: Peyton Manning

#3 Ballhandler: Aaron Rodgers

This pretty much has to be a QB, find WR/RB later... and really, TE?

#1 Linemen: Chris Snee

#2 Linemen: Steve Hutchinson

#3 Linemen: Jordan Gross

#1 Defensive Linemen: Jarred Allen

#2 Defensive Linemen: Mario Williams

#3 Defensive Linemen: Kevin Williams

#1 Defensive Skill Player: Derell Revis

#2 Defensive Skill Player: Ed Reed

#3 Defensive Skill Player: Bob Sanders

I hearby suggest we stop referring to players as ball handlers.

Confuses the issue a bit and I think it is against the law in Utah.

Lol.

why "Lol"? he is only 25, has had back to back 4000 yard seasons in his first 2 years starting, and plays behind one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL.

for me:

#1 offensive ballhandler: Aaron Rodgers.

#1 lineman: Ryan Clady

#1 defensive lineman: Jared Allen

#1 defensive "skill" player: Darelle Revis

    • Can't forget Greg Olsen.
    • Speaking of a lack of experience at CB last year... Here is a sneak peak of the side-by-side post-draft roster comparisons I'm working on, position by position.  I happened to start tonight with CB. Here's what our roster looked like at CB on May 1 last year vs. May 1 this year (UDFAs excluded).    Obviously we didn't know who our starting CBs would be in 2016, especially since we quickly released Boykin, one of the only experienced corners on the roster at the time...  But going with the trio of Benwikere / Bradberry / Worley, among them, only 6 NFL starts, compared with 104 starts for the trio of Bradberry, Munnerlyn & Worley!  NO true veteran leader of the CBs in 2016.  What a difference a year makes.  Huge to get Captain back.  May he ball out and help us get a ring! Anything else strike you all about this comparison, or anything you would like me to add / change in terms of the presentation? I hope to be able to post new positions each day in the coming week.  Maybe 2 positions per day....
