while it is good to see them take some official action towards the future of our QB position. it is still kind of hard to watch. I was always a Delhomme fan. I started watching the panthers a year or two before he became our starter, and as far as I am concerned, it will be weird to see a non-Delhomme led team.

he had a great career here in carolina, and his intensity and leadership made up for his lack of overall ability. those attributes will be missed, and I wish him luck in whatever else he does.

Sergeant: Ok troops, let's trudge this heavily forested vietnam swamp.

All: Sir yes Sir!

Private: Oh poo!

Sergeant: What is it, private?!

Private: Sir charlie in the trees!

Sergeant: Viet Cong?!

Private: No, sir, it's Charlie Davis from the 1976 expansion Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Sir!

"You know something Junior? Iwo Jima was one of the bloodiest battles in history. I was there. But it was NOTHING compared to that loss against Arizona in the playoffs. Now THAT was a massacre!"

I don't think that's what people are getting at. At least not me. To me this looks like Fox let his emotions cloud his judgement to the detriment of the team. I mean, don't you ever wonder why Fox never pulled Delhomme? Look at how Moore did when he replaced Delhomme...we might have had a good shot at making the playoffs this past year.

The blind loyalty during the season absolutely killed the team. No question about it.
The reality that that particular realtionship being over I can also understand the emotional aspect.

Some of us fans really are hypocrites, we want these guys to put their heart and soul into OUR team and when they do and it's over, we call them pussies for getting emotional about it.

Some of the same folks on here complain that Peppers "never cared about this team". Jake and Fox did/do and they cried today when their long and mostly successful relationship on this team ended... so which do you want, guys that don't care and don't cry when it's over or guys that care enough to cry when it's over?

Crying like that shows a lack of caring about the team and more about caring for the individual. Thanks for helping me see that.
