We have been trying to resign him for 4 years now so thats total BS. If he wanted to be in Carolina he would be. It just came down to that he would almost take a half a season off. There were players behind him that were working hard on every down and Peppers was half assing it on half of them.

This is the same situation that Moose when threw when he left Carolina.

Its not that hard to stop Peppers. If you respect him and always keep a TE and maybe even a fb/rb to help out the T you will frustrate him and eventually he gives up. You can usually tell the kind of game Pep is going to have in the 1st qtr. If you can shut him out for that long I am not afraid of him in the slightest. We have a team that should know exactly how to stop him.

This is 100 per cent correct. The only problem is, people were just as stupid back then. Moose left because Chicago offered more money. We didn't match it. The same argument can be made now- if you got offered more money to work somewhere else, you'd take it. Say anything different, and you're full of crap.

And for everybody saying "1.5 million isn't that much when you're talking about 12.5 million", tomorrow when you go to work, give back 1/8th of your pay. Because you really want to be there.

So he wanted to stay but wouldn't do it for 1.5 million less per season than he wanted?

Sounds like he was really committed to staying....

Pep turned down multiple reasonable lucrative offers and then acts butthurt cause they didn't make just one more offer (for him to turn down).

He wasn't gonna give a hometown discount folks. I'll sell you a ski chalet in Florida if you think he would have.

"Its not about the money...but another 1.5 million on top of the 20 million they paid me last season would have made all the difference."

Fuuuuuuug him.

For 6 million more, I also would have signed with the Panthers. Unfortunately they offered me nothing!

20 million last year wasn't enough to prove to Julius Peppers how badly Carolina wanted to keep him.

Guess we should have made it 21.5. :|

Big time. When you said "I was willing to stay" when you didn't last year, you're a greedy liar.
