Yea I don't understand why people automatically assume a good player playing on special teams will just magically get hurt, or is more prone to getting hurt while doing that than his normal position.

Plus I would rather Williams get 95% of the carries this postseason anyway. May as well give Stewart his carries on ST.

No, Jones is a playmaker on ST. Plus Jarrett should be activated for the game anyways... averages 12 yds a catch mostly on 3rd downs + clutch situations and caught a 25 yrder on 3rd down in the SD game to help set up the game winning catch. I also will be wearing my black Jarrett jersey to the game so just one more reason to activate Jarrett :D

Here is another question for you guys thinking my idea is crazy. Why did Fox have Smitty return a punt during the last game if he is so happy with Jones? There is more to this story than you think.

Some people just don't get it. We've been in this no RB situation before....so go ahead, hell throw them all back there. Get this far to make stupid ass decisions, and let's see who cries then.

Nobody said he would get hurt...but we didn't come this far to find out either!

Jones may be a play maker if your judging it the same way you would judge the way NC state plays offense, but in reality he is not a huge threat.
He is secure and safe with the ball though, which is good.

He isn't the worse KR in the league by far, but he is far from elite. I don't mind Jones at all, but still the idea of the OP isn't not bad either.

So if the great Mark Jones gets injured, who do you put back there? Gamble?

Get real.

Really a shot at state in the Carolina Panthers forum :nono:

I'm judging on what I've seen from the past few games and I've seen a guy get it out toe the 30's the majority of the time and last time I check starting from the 30's is a hell of a lot better than starting from your 20 or under

Didn't say that....cross that bridge when, and if we get to it...but for now what we have is working. Leave it alone.

How is it such a stupid decision? I am saying we should replaceca good punt returner with a great one who is a playmaker. In my crazy decision we would also have a 4th capable WR ready in case one gets hurt or we fall behind. Doesn't sound to stupid to me.

Why would we want to throw to other receivers when Smitty can catch the ball between 2 defenders on a regular basis? That's just rediculous.

This thread reminds me of this train of thought:

I've been getting 45mpg with this great new ride I have, and have now racked up 20,000 miles on my car and tires, so I'm gonna pull over, take off a tire and save it for when I get further down the road, so I don't wear them all out at once so quickly, and be prepared just in case I have a flat.

10 miles down the road...what did you have to replace next?

:D

I posted this a few months ago as a crazy sort of idea, I wouldn't really frown on it either way

we're not saving stewart or smith for the rest of the season, it's a good way to get your playmakers the ball

With that same thought process we'd also deactivate Lloyd because he only handles kickoffs...... I would NOT deactivate Mark, our return game is back to being respectable..... remember last year........ TERRIBLE....
