I hope it isn't true. I want him to get signed but Cleveland is terrible.

If he did, then Cleveland just got better. Good luck to him, except when he plays against the Panthers.

LOL

Nothing against Jake, but, 12 million from the Panthers + 12 million from the Browns for a QB with a bad arm and a shot ego.

All I can say is the league is really hard up for QBs.

Adam_Schefter

Filed to ESPN: Cleveland landed its second QB of the week, this time Jake Delhomme. Browns and Delhomme agree to a two-year deal

Legit.

Good for Jake, wish it could've been with a better team though. He's getting paid starter money though.

So Cleveland's brilliant plan to upgrade from Brady Quinn and Derek Anderson was to go out and get....Seneca Wallace and Jake Delhomme?

I think its safe to say that Jake is the best QB on that roster (not saying much, but still). I wonder how much motivation our D will have. He did keep them on the field more than they should have been in most of 2009

Honestly though, I hope Jake is prepared for what's ahead of him. The Panthers have the most mild-mannered, easy-to-please fanbase in the NFL. The Browns? Um...not so much.

Good for him. Cleveland looks to be making all the right steps to becoming a good team.

Hate the guy or not, he'll make a great backup to whichever rookie they draft/sign/start, whether it be this year or next. He actually has a legitimate chance to start in 2010.

Can't believe they gave him so much money....if that part is true. (He must have a good agent!) But, I am glad for him. He is a class guy. Hope he wins the starting job....who knows, maybe a change will be good for him

I...really hope for Jake's sake that the Browns draft oline early and often, Joe Thomas or not.
ok
I'd like to know what makes you think otherwise. They stockpiled picks for this year, built a pretty damn beastly offensive line(Thomas/Mack are top 5 players at their position.) and brought in a quarterback that is clearly better than all of their current starters. Cleveland has many needs, and it's better to address their glaring defensive problems this year rather than waste it on a QB, especially when they could get a player like Berry that would INSTANTLY make their defense 10x better.

Jake is clearly not the long-term solution and Cleveland won't be a competitor in 2010, but if they draft well this year they could be in 2011.
