I still say that 8-9 DT's will be taken by our pick. Compared to 4-5 WR's. I like Lamar but feel he is a luxury pick when Corvey and Tank have not had a chance to show their stuff. It is funny how we all agree in principle but still find a way to disagree.

Corvey Irvin would be a 6th round pick in this year's draft, believe me ;)

There are two DT i'd love to draft for our scheme (Obviously not Suh or McCoy b/c they're Top 10 picks): Brian Price and Lamarr Houston. I'm pretty high into this guys (Brian Price at #15 to the NYG, Houston at #31 to the Colts).

Considering there's no way Price will be avalaible at #48 i'd love to draft Houston and IMO there's no similarities between him and the players we currently have. As a former DE Houston has the moves/abilities to create something we're looking for some time: interior pass rush.

And is not a coincidence i have him in a Colts uniform: he really fits our new scheme.

I'm not very confident in our DT corp right now. Leonard has shown some flashes and althought i'm not very sure, i'm all for it to play the run stopper role. But we've a huge hole in the UT spot. Tank Tyler should be a great back-up. Sadly Corvey Irvin is a reach to me but i'm still confident he could develop into a solid back-up, who knows.

So...draft Lamarr Houston :D

Regards!!

He is right, that no defensive player we pick at our mid 2nd round spot, is going to break the starting lineup this season.

Although they would be apart of the rotation.

Meeks defense's in Indy=average; fair at best versus the run. Yeah, it starts up front if you are attempting to stop the run. I'm not trying to convince you I'm right...it's just my humble opinion, but please stop trying to convince everyone else that YOU are.

Nobody doubts Smitty needs help, just some of us think we can get it in the 3rd while getting D-line help in the second round.

from the mouth of JOHN "FRICKING" FOX.

He also said the team isn't looking to make moves at defensive tackle even though Maake Kemoeatu and Damione Lewis were released.

"Right now -- of course, we haven't played a down yet -- I think those are areas that might be (two) of our more solid areas, our O-line and defensive tackle," said Fox. "That's not to say we wouldn't move or look or change ot try to create new people there, but that's not high on the priority list right now."

This is exactly what i said. Interior Dline is fine. The last line of BS is keeping your cards hidden and smokescreen. But when a coach says the area is solid it means no moves will likely be made.

Actually you can't tell that at all. If this is a smokescreen wouldn't he say everything is fine and they don't plan to pursue a DT to keep their intentions hidden? If they were going to pursue a free agent after the draft, would they discuss it now? And finally does Fox ever say anything definitely? Anytime a coach uses the word might, it doesn't exactly express that things are solid. On the O-line I would believe him but the D line is still uncertain and guys like Leonard are still coming off IR. I also suspect that if you asked Fox last year prior to Kemo going down he would say the D line was solid as well. I don't know that they will do anything at all but at this point we can't say we won't either.

I think talent should be concentrated more at DE but a DT shouldn't be out of the question.

I think people are greatly underestimating our DT's abilities but we still need a 5th guy.

I'd rather get a DE, SLB, or WR at #2 unless a really good DT falls.

I doubt we carry a 5th DT next season. You have either C Johnson or Brayton that can slide inside on passing downs.

I believe we will go into the season with Tyler, Leonard, Irvin, and Johnson (ex colt). The DE's will be C Johnson, Brown, Brayton, and another FA.

I don't think that a DE or DT is a given in this draft.

I don't think we've ever gone into a season with 8 D-lineman at least when Fox has been here. They seem to always go 4DE/5DT or 5DE/4DE.
