capitalism always fails when it is hijacked by the corrupt. but then again, the very essence of capitalism could influence such actions inevitably due to the nature of man, in turn always leading to its destruction.
if thats the case, i guess we're just screwed no matter what then haha.

Define failure. Was the great depression a failure, or a major dip? Is failure meaning complete collapse of a nation's economy to the point where that nation no longer exist as a economic entity. IF thats what you mean, then historically speaking, there have been very few total economic failures. So the odds of it happening in my lifetime are extremely slim unless there are external factors such as a major war with nukes being used.
