So now Communism won WWII. Keep reaching guys.

I'd have to say that the process that's led to modern China put more people in the dirt than raised from poverty.

But hey, when you kill 20 million people, there's bound to be moar cheeseburgers for everyone else.

Without communism, the Soviet Union would have gotten crushed during WWII. It provided a mechanism for not only inducing recruitment, but the wholesale move of entire cities to the Urals to continue producing war materiel. It provided a propaganda counter to fascism, saved the Soviets millions on niceties like humane treatment of the millions of prisoners of war it had to absorb, and made it able to control the entire population towards winning the war when it could not just pay its workers to do so.

As far as China goes, there is no other way to control that population, it's just a cultural thing. What the takeaway should be is that in a modern society, different levels of socialist and capitalist elements must be combined for success - it does not matter what end you evolved from, everything is headed to a combination as populations increase and wealth with it.

Go back and look at how many were in control of USSR. Then tell me how was it communist?
