And there's another scenario from Bobcats Baseline. To be honest, I love it. While there is the serious possibility that it would blow up in our faces, that's the kind of risk the Bobcats have to take. When Arenas is right, he is an elite player.

Will never happen.

I did like the scenario of trading Diaw for Heinrich, even though I am a big fan of Diaw. If the Bobs can just sit tight through this season without taking on any more big long term deals, then they have a lot of money coming off of the books next offseason.

I think it is also important to note that Arenas hasn't played a full season since 2006-2007.

http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/06/oh-how-the-stock-of-michael-beasley-has-fallen.php

The Nets have turned down a Kenyon Dooley for Michael Beasley swap because they favor Dooley's team option they can buy out to make cap room. Since its obvious they're trying to trade him, the Bobcats should be all over this.

While I know a lot of us love Thomas, Beasley could feasably cost less and put up just as good if not better numbers than TT. There's going to have to be some pieces added, possibly a sign-and-trade from the Heat, but a Mohammed for Beasley deal makes a lot of sense for both teams. Miami gets an expiring contract and, depending on who else we get back, probable cap relief this year. The Bobcats get a talented young player that has been somewhat miscast, yet still productive in Miami.

No Felton or Thomas, plus trading Mohammed would put the payroll at $46,174,580. Beasley's contract would put us at $51,136,820 and let's assume any other contract we take on in the deal is in the $3MM range. That puts the payroll at $54,136,820. There's often been talk about a Diaw for Hinrich trade, that would be wash salary-wise. Given these deals, we'd have a starter at all five positions and be around $14MM under the team's payroll from last season. That's more than enough money available to fill out the bench, and possibly even bring in a good player this year.

PG: Hinrich

SG: Jackson

SF: Wallace

PF: Beasley

C: Chandler

Beasley has some haters in Charlotte (rightfully so, he would have brought UNC-Charlotte back to the NCAAs) and he has some serious physical, psychological, and attitude problems, but he could be a better version of Lamar Odom.

So you're saying he's a Larry Brown special. He's a better scorer than Tyrus is, both percentage-wise and in volume. He's not as good at rebounding or defensively, but there's going to be at least three other starters on this team that are plus rebounders and defenders.

Beasley is the kind of young player we can build around. Decent contract, solid all-around player. He makes our team better.

Beasly is a headcase. I like TT better and hope we resign him. Beasly will want a bigger contract soon enough. We need to revamp our team. Stephen Jackson has a decent contract and can score and could be a leader for a young team. I am afraid it might be time to clean house. Adding Hinrich and Beasley is not gonna put us over the top.

Big change is coming either way. Neither MJ or LB are the types to sit around. We should anticipate getting a big name this off season on the strength Jordan and our HOF coach. Maybe the reason Larry is being quite is that he's made a roster demand or knows a certain player or two coming on the market would play for him and he wants to see it done. Being Larry Brown, going out with a championship or two would be going out on a high note. He knows Jordan is relentless and wants to win too. Once again I wouldn't bet against Michael Jordan many many men have lost fortunes doing so. He was always determined to get a team in Charlotte and he did it, didn't he?
