humans are the top of the food chain in most parts of the world. we evolved surperior eyes, and senses, and a surperior brain to help us hunt and survive for 100,000 years until we learned to cultivate the land, and live a less nomadic lifestyle about 6,ooo years ago.

its like why a housecat still likes to chase birds. its just natural.

i dont have a problem with hunting, but i hardly ever do it. i'm not patient enough, i want to shoot something NOW dammit!

but i can definately see whay it is still common, and traditional.
the bond of a father teaching his son to hunt has been around for a long time.

for some, sport hunting is a hobby and in my opinion, as long as they eat what they shoot...what's wrong with it? No different than going fishing etc. If I can do something I love, go out hunting, and at the end of the hunt put food on the table...then hell ya! Some would also argue that buying meat from the store is more cruel than going out and killing Bambi and his daddy!!!

Shoot it + eat it = all good in my books

Far more healthy too. Fewer steroids, additives, etc.

I'm kinda lucky, I don't have to hunt for any kind of wild game. Got plenty of friends and relatives from further back in the hills that are more than happy to give away some trout and deer. And some bear occasionally.
