Yeah lets just poo all over the fans that have been there since season 1 for the fans that are going to bail on the team the first time they have another shitty season.

That is pretty weak dude...

Anyway, this is the same ole theme in a different thread....There are a handful of people who are still sniffing BJ's jock. They cant appreciate what MJ, the new owner, is trying to do without reminding us of how "lucky" we were to have had BJ. I dont think that any of these people will ever change their narrow minds.

Point is, yes it would suck for anyone who bought Bobcats apparel, and I sympathize with that (but people have made worse fan apparel purchases, see below), but MJ has been trying to change the image of the bobcats, and have the entire CITY (or states, NC/SC) embrace an NBA franchise. This means if the majority of the public wants a name change, he should do it, period.

Its less weak than those that say they need a name change to support the team.

I don't think anyone's on Bob's jock, but the haters sure are swinging on his nuts, 2 months after he sold the team, dancing like fools as if he were banished from Charlotte for an eternity.

When he still owns part of the team, and you can bet he has a say so in the operations still as well.

They change the name to something like the flight, and I'm out. Its bullshit and embarrassing and I'd be ashamed to call myself a fan after that.

am I the only one who thinks New Orleans should change there name so we can go back to being the Charlotte Hornets?

Hornets and Bobcats are both gay. Flight sounds like a soccer team.

The Charlotte Knights. Rename Bobcat Arena Jamelot. Or just call the court Jamelot Court. Keep the current colors. Put Sir (first name) on every player's jersey, instead of the usual last name. Knight merchandise would sell like crazy nationwide.

^ thats the best idea yet. Jamelot!! lmao:smilielol5: thats awesome

if they changed the name to flight, don't let the door hit you on the way out.

It didn't hit me when I walked away from the Hornets.

I'd feel the same if the Panthers decided to change their name to the Spartanburg Spartans.

And truth be told, we dont need their support. That kind of conditional support, is just that, conditional. Charlotte, nationally doesnt have a great reputation when it comes to fan support, and anyone who reads a thread like this can understand why.

What do you expect? You've got a bunch of people who have 0 say and absolutely no control over the situation at the mercy of rich black people. Its culture shock. This bitterness and grudge holding should be expected. As soon as we have a bad year again, these same folks will throw MJ under the bus AGAIN, I GUARANTEE IT.

They change the name to something like the flight, and I'm out. Its bullpoo and embarrassing and I'd be ashamed to call myself a fan after that.

Dont worry the name wont be changing.

Nah as long as Jordan makes his public appearances and dances for Charlotte, they'll forgive him for the melanin content.

why do we keep going over this same tired issue, the name change is way down the list of things MJ is considering that might improve the teams bottom line, if you have been paying attention,th e bobcats are adding 6 figure sponsors on a regular basis over the last year or so, i'm sure MJ has something to do with that but most of this is the hard work of Fred Whitfield and his staff as they have come up with creative ways to increase sponsorships and improved game presentation(a good product doesn't hurt either)

    • Yeah really dumb idea. Star players will be getting thrown out for incidental contact that the ref "misunderstands" as a helmet shot. The solution isn't adding more rules or "being stricter" so to say but enforcing the rules that are already established down the middle. Our games are evidence enough that the refs suck but damn I got tired watching other teams play and see the game decided on either bullshit flags or lack of flags. If anybody needs to be punished more it isn't the players but these POS refs the league can't get their heads noses out of the asses of. Always an excuse or some convoluted reason why the refs were right. I actually heard the announcers calling it out tons of these obvious blown calls and yet still the league stands behind the refs like idiots.
    • First I got to say, damn, people trying to instantly make us the most hated team in the league, even over the Patriots aren't they lol. With all the hate Cam already gets then add Kap even if briefly, oh lord I'd hate to picture it. Yeah that first play is what stands out to me the most. I'd expect even a rookie QB to make that read and throw the ball instead of handing it off. That drive ended up in a safety where as if he throws it to Torrey Smith it is easily a 1st down and possibly a TD as he only has to beat one man. I don't even see Kap look around any in that clip so even more so it feels like he gave it away that it was a run play and the Rams read it like a book. I don't feel like we need him nor do I feel like he is better than what we have. As for his protest, I didn't like what he was doing when he was kneeling but hey he had the right to do it. I personally think him putting his money where his mouth was, was a better way than just kneeling and I commend him for doing so. To be honest the 49'ers have said they would welcome him back. Let's not forget he would still be with them had he not voided his own contract. Somebody will sign him though I just don't see it as a starter which is what he clearly wanted to try and be by voiding with the 49'ers.
    • I feel like this is some kind of guilty admission lol and you should feel bad for voting for that Lunatic / traitor president of ours.    But guess what, you will get a chance to redeem yourself in 2020 with more information about the disgraced president  coming out every week.
