I don't see why we can't make the playoffs this year.

You answered your own question. Except this person and this person who has he waited on....I mean come on now really? He is pretty much forced to come around ( take a chance) at this point form multiple angles. Unless he decided to coach this year differently with a bunch of rookies and young guys while also all of a sudden deciding he could do it with half the year's salary than last years' and convinced the FO that is what they all should do. But he didn't, the FO is really testing Foxs' worth this year.

But to be clear you guys are saying Fox prefers young talent over Vets right? and you guys probably believe Jake actually broke his finger too..

I answered my own question? I guess I did--and it shreds your point. You have nothing but two incidents in eight years with which you can characterize Fox that way, and I even offered you two others that would be stretches but it goes no further. I'm sorry, but you have nothing to stand on in your characterization. And in that it doesn't surprise me that you tried to put it back on me.

Fox doesn't do what you say he does, plain and simple. And that's a good thing. :)

Solid Defense, Great OL, Great Running game and I feel we will have solid play at QB.

I just don't buy into the gloom and doom.

Still-developing defense, good OL, great running game, and maybe solid QB play.

Moreover, there are rookies at key positions, and 2-3 year old "vets" who are still green (our QBs being among that number).

I don't buy into the gloom and doom either, but realistically there are several reasons I can see us not making the playoffs this year. But, being an optimist, I hope that we do.

We have an elite running game, elite O-line, elite receiver, solid QB. We have a great secondary and one of the best LB cores in the entire league. Our ST's should improve dramatically with all the FA's we signed to address that need. The only concerns are the d-line, where I think Brown and Johnson will break-out as great pass rushers, and overall depth. We have what looks to be an easy schedule and if we can stay healthy we have a great chance to make the play-offs.

I don't know what franchise you think this is, but we are not the raiders or the skins. They aren't forcing fox to play any certain players. The front office is obviously working within a buget that they have in mind. Fox is not the kind of guy that would stay anywhere if someone was telling him\forcing him how to coach/run the team. You guys have literally ran wild with the idea that richardson is running this team like davis runs the raiders, putting his hands in everything. That is not richardson. He hired guys to run the football operations of the franchise, and he let's them do it.

Or injuries, or anything. Put down the doom and gloom crystal ball, as nobody knows how this next season will end up playing out.

Ever been at the end of your chips and gone all in on a hand you like but know is statistically not exactly rock solid?

That's this season to me.

Yeah, crap we're sitting at the table with some good cards but no one figures we're a threat when you're looking across the table at the Media's darling. The New Orleans Kid.

This is the first year I've felt better about our offense going into a season. I just don't see how we're going to stop the run when our starting DT's are Tank Tyler and Louis Leonard.

Are you basing this on something you've seen that makes you think they will not be able to stop the run, or is it simply that you don't know enough about them to be comfortable? After all, that's the crux of the issue.

I liked Harris as a starter, I liked him as a leader and respect all the things he did while he was here. He was a pass coverage liability, last year especially, surely you can see that.

I'm tired of doing the research for factless people. Go look at the stats for Harris, Martin, and Godfrey, and then correct your previous statement.

I don't agree with that. Moore was third on the depth chart, and our second QB got injured. And Jake had a strong history with the club--he didn't lose the locker room at all.

I don't think this is true, I think he did lose the locker room. There were some very tense interviews and "I'm not saying it, if you know what I'm sayin'" quotes, from Steve Smith no less, about Jake last year. I think everyone knew that Jake was done, but Fox was too big of a puss to start Moore. And frankly, that cost us the season. There's even good reason to doubt if Jake actually was hurt, or if Fox pulled that BS to cover his ass in case Moore didn't play well.

Using that logic, I guess we cut/trade Steve Smith so Lafell can start?

Your analogy only works if Smith had dropped 14 straight passes, yet everyone was still pushing to get him the ball. Smith is still performing at an elite level, so it doesn't make sense to start a young player in his place. Jake was playing at a craptastic level last year. It would have made sense to put a quadriplegic monkey in to replace him.
