I really don't want to have to flood the thread even more to prove my point.

even if we do have to see Ward's ugly ass flat weird looking face.

Not much on him on Jewtube

Also, way to bring in the racism.

I'm a racist because I called Ward ugly and a sentence before you called YouTube Jewtube? You sure are a pro at contradicting yourself.

Yeah... too bad anything referencing "Jew" is religion related.

Since you all want to get childish here, let me ask these questions:

When was the last time Smitty was the Super Bowl MVP?

When was the last time Smitty won a Super Bowl?

When was the last time Smitty had over 80 receiving yards in a Super Bowl?

Thought so.

When was the last time a Steeler won the triple crown?

Murq and I debate this at least once a week. It isn't about the numbers, or who has more 50 yard catches. It's about pure ability.

Pros for each:

HINES: Hands, best blocking WR in the game, route running, possession receiver

SMITTY: Hands, speed, agility, route running, possession receiver

Really the only area that Smitty is better than Hines is at the "big play" ability, which is really speed + hands combined.

I view Hines as the better overall due to his blocking ability. It's fact that he is the best blocking receiver ever.

Thoughts?

And please, no dick riding.

this shows me I should have passed on this thread...

have you never seen Smitty block? would make alot of sense.. the dude is just as brutal.. I'll give you the edge on Ward's blocking, but it's not worlds apart... AT ALL...

Before I gave you respect because you didn't bring out the Super Bowl card because as someone who supposedly knows so much about football you know a Super Bowl ring is a TEAM achievement. You've officially shown how desperate you are to win by putting out a statement that has nothing to do with the ABILITY of either reciever which, if I remember correctly, was the main purpose of this thread. Haven't you learned anything from the Sayers/Urlacher debate. Great players are great players even if they don't have a ring.

Also when was the last time that a Steeler receiver was listed as one of the hardest two receivers to cover by the leagues best CB?

To me this matchup comes down to who is the most explosive playmaker. Hands and blocking are basically equivalent with this comparison. Smith is easily more explosive and dangerous with the ball in his hands and thus is the better receiver hands down.

Also, Smith doesn't steal money from his friends and partners unlike Mr. Ward.

You clearly don't understand, but shame on me, after reading a lot of what you've said so far it's obvious you rarely understand much of anything.

I realize antisemitism and racism are different, but they're both prejudices. I was just pointing out the apparent hypocrisy in calling someone a racist and in the same breath making a joke about Jews.

I cannot believe this thread made it out of the second page.

This should not even be an arguement.

Steve Smith is a sure fire top 10 WR in the NFL, and probably in many circles a top 5.

Hines Ward is nowhere close to that now, or ever before.

Ward has the edge in one catagory that should be considered when discussing him and SS, and thats games missed in his career. Thats the only one. Smith has missed his fair share of games, and Ward has been very reliable.

However, that alone is not enough of a difference to level the playing field.

Steve Smith is a much better WR.

This is the last I'll mention of it:

If Hines and Steve both retired at the end of next season... who would be inducted into the HOF first?

Verdict is in :smash:
