The Bobcats made a qualifying offer to forward Tyrus Thomas.

That will make him a restricted free agent and allow the team to match any offer he receives. Thomas wasn't given as many minutes as we were hoping for in Charlotte last season, as he still tries to find a permanent home in the NBA.

Charlotte Bobcats General Manager Rod Higgins announced today that the team has made a qualifying offer to forward Tyrus Thomas, making him a restricted free agent. The qualifying offer allows the Bobcats to match any offer he receives from another team.

Nice. He is my favorite Bobcat right now. Was hoping we would do what we could to keep him.

Cool. lol, I still remember that horrible flop he tried to pull in Orlando, then started laughing about how bad his acting skills were.

He's a good player, we need to keep him.

More News

The Charlotte Bobcats have made a one-year, $6.2 million qualifying offer to Tyrus Thomas, making the power forward a restricted free agent. Friday's move will allow the Bobcats to match any offer Thomas gets from another team when free agency begins next week. Thomas said on Tuesday he wants to sign a long-term deal with the Bobcats

We need to start Tyrus over Diaw. I think Diaw would be much better coming off the bench in situations. Tyrus has raw energy, defensive ability that Diaw lacks, and we seen in a game with Orlando he can score points and shoot if given the chance.

Oh and if we were the luckiest team in the world and got David Lee.... we'd be pretty awesome.

I'd love to have Diaw come off the bench at a much lower price than what we've got him at. He's not a horrible player, but that contract looks even worse now that Thomas looks like he's more than qualified to grab a starting role.
