Erick Dampier said Friday that he'd be willing to re-sign with the Bobcats if they waive him and his $13 million, non-guaranteed salary, but he wants an answer quickly.

"Obviously we'd give Charlotte the first opportunity," he said about re-signing if they waive him. "The shorter (the time) the better,'' Dampier said. "so both sides know" where they stand. It sounds like there's a decent chance Dampier will remain with the Bobcats, even if he's waived in the near future.

Wouldn't be a bad idea to pick him back up once he's waived, because no matter where he ends up, he's going to be cut. He'd be a solid veteran coming off the bench, and we all know how much LB loves guys like that.

He's better then Freaking Diop at least.... He would be good for 10-20 minutes a game I think, a nice 3rd option (if they can get a nice starter at 5) or a decent backup.

Having him and Nazr platoon the Center position wouldn't be the end of the world.
