I was reading this story an L Blount fighting at TC, but I was suprised about the statement that there is a new NFL rule that stops a play when a players helmet comes off.

Does anyone have further carification on this. This could be interesting in scenerios when a player not involved with the ball such as a linemans helmet comes off, also in the MNF game when Eli's helment was knocked off did the paly continue only bc he fumbled the ball?

if i remember I think they said that if you helmet comes off. when you are in possession of the ball when his helmet comes off the play is blown dead.

It happened, like, three times during last weeks game. I saw Ravens Helmets flying all over the place.

Thanks for the clarification, this really would suck if a players helmet pops off as he breaks through the line and the play is called dead but he would of had a clear path to the end zone.

I hope all WRs RBs QBs strap up the chin straps from now on

Bad rule. A few years ago Witten had his helmet blown off but broke the tackle and kept on gaining a huge chunk of yards.
