App State

at ECU-L

Montana-W fug the Grizzlies but this could be a toss up. See McNeese State game 2009

Citadel-W

at Chattanooga-W

Coastal Carolina-W

Elon-W

at Samford-W

Wofford- ? (I don't trust our line this year and App is getting into the tough conference games)

at Western Carolina-W lol

at Georgia Southern-L

Furman-W (it's black saturday bitches)

I see an 7-4 to 8-3 type year this year.

Montana had a Penn State-esque scandal of their own and is replacing their AD, head coach, and QB in addition to all their losses from last year. It's not the same Grizzly team of old, which is why it scares me. App hasn't played well in big games OOC at home in recent times (McNeese, Villanova, Maine) but I think they pull out a close one. That will be one heck of a weekend.

As far as Wofford is concerned, they lost their starting QB and Brenton Bersin is now a Panther. Their entire offense is now Breitenstein. Stop him and you win. Wofford absolutely hates coming to Boone and that game should be no different. The only question on defense will be, as you said, the interior line play.

8-3 or 9-2, maybe a shared conference title, and all bets are off in the playoffs.

either 11-1 with a loss to lsu .. or 10-2 with a loss to LSU and maybe Ark because we seem to always lose to a team we have no business losing to. And if we go 10-2 Georgia will also and once again we'll get screwed out of the SEC title game even though we beat every team in the east including the one going in our place.

2013 ECU Pirates

Old Dominion - W - We're going to destroy ODU.  Home opener, night game, 50,000+ Pirates will make Dowdy-Ficklen WAY too much for the FCS upstart.

Florida Atlantic - W - FAU just doesn't have the talent to compete in Greenville vs ECU's explosive O.  Simply won't be able to outscore us.

Virginia Tech - Toss Up - VT is coming off a bad year by their standards.  Logan Thomas looked awful in their Spring Game, and they have a brand new offensive coordinator as well.  They played very poorly on the road last season.  This could go either way.  Wouldn't be shocked if ECU found a way to win.

@ UNC - L - ECU just never "brings it" when they play the Heels.  Even in a potentially down year for Carolina, I still think the Holes get the W.

@ MTSU - W - MTSU is a pretty decent team that returns a lot of players.  They beat Georgia Tech last season in Atlanta.  But ECU will just be too much.

@ Tulane - W - No explination needed.  Easy win.

Southern Miss - W - The once proud Golden Eagles are coming off their first ever 0-12 season.  Brand new coaching staff and no experience at QB.  Could be another tough year.

@ Florida International - W - They are terrible.  Do they even have a coach yet?

Tulsa - W - ECU has won the last 2 meetings with Tulsa.  This will likely be the "Game of the Year" in C-USA before both teams move onto the American Athletic Conference.  Possible re-match in the championship game.

UAB - W - ECU just has UAB's number.  Being that it's in Greenville, they have no shot.

@ NC State - W - No more Glennon.  New coach.  ECU has won in Raleigh before and always seems to play great against the Wolfpack.  I see an upset, although at this point in the season, it may not be considered an upset.

@ Marshall - W - TOUGH game.  Arguably the best offense we'll see all season.  Huntington, WV is a tough place to get a win.  But I see Shane Carden willing his team to a spot in the C-USA title game.

OVERALL (11-1) (8-0)

More likely (10-2) (8-0)

I don't think you'll destroy ODU honestly. Win yes, but I think it'll be a 14-17 point game. Maybe you consider that destroying, I don't know. Taylor Heineke is a crazy good QB. I think their offense will do just fine against ECU, but their defense will struggle.

I'm happy that I finally get to participate in a college football prediction thread though!

Charlotte plays a pretty lousy schedule (expected from a first year program).

Campbell - W - non-scholarship football, new coach, never a great program. I think Charlotte wins this one.

Chowan (DII) - W - DII. Even a brand new program should be a DII team

NC Central - L - This will be the first scholarship DI (FCS, yes, but still technically DI) program we play. Not confident in a win here.

Presbyterian - W - Not a good program. We'll probably sell out their tiny stadium.

Gardner-Webb - W - Not a good program. Home game for Charlotte with a sold out house.

UNC Pembroke (DII) -  W - DII. Not even a very good DII.

Charleston Southern - W - they invest little to nothing into their program and it shows. Definitely winnable.

Coastal Carolina - L - I don't know how god CCU is supposed to be this year, bu they've been solid in the past.

Wesley College (DII) - W - DII...again should win even as a first year program.

Old Dominion - L - lol, this one won't be close. ODU will probably win by several touchdowns. This game will be nationally televised. Not bad for a first year and a 5th year program.

Morehead State - W - non-scholarship team again. A first year team should still win against a non-scholarship opponent.

Overall 9-3.

I know that seems like an awfully good record for a new program, but look at many of the other programs that have started in the past few years. Many have done pretty well because they played a weak schedule like we are. Nothing can kill a program quicker than losing from the start.

We have a lot of transfers from FBS teams, so our level of athlete should outclass many of the programs we play. I could also see us losing against Gardner Webb or Presbyterian since they too are scholarship programs, but I doubt we'll lose to both.

At worse I think we're 7-5

ODU could easily beat ECU. I've actually seen them play live and they are without a doubt a top 3 FCS program and a top 3 FCS program is just as good as these teams in lower level conferences.

I just think their small size on defense will have a tough time stopping ECU's offense. Their offense will surprise ECU fans though.

I wouldn't be stunned if they beat ECU, but I don't see it as very likely.
