I don't think Fox has any intentions of leaving next year

I think it will be very difficult to find a coach that is better than Fox.

Certainly not arguing that, but I think it's inevitable.

I do like Davidson as a possibility, but we'll save that for another thread.

I guarantee fox would have started him this year.

At this point, I wish we were.

And I am beginning to believe the problem is Davidson and his vanilla offense.

Ill pull this outta my arse.

I think Fox was saying thank you to JR with this years draft and the overall status of the team. He is doing a good job of evaluating I would say so far and the team is, as you hear so often, "moving in the right direction". I must say, and this could very well be crazy talk but, I agree with Tom Tom and think Fox is as much ready to leave as Jr is ready to bring someone new. He's just making sure he's doing a good job until the finish of his term. Imo it makes him look like a champ and its all laid out in the open for everyone to see.

Fox might very well be jaded with this community and all the disrespect he gets. Dont get your panties in a bunch with that statement but, I do often wonder what its like to be in his shoes. Everywhere you go. . "MAAAN, that Delholme aint worth a HOOT, Foxy,. . . whaddar we gonna do bout that huh, Foxy?!?. . hmm?. . poke. . hmm poke poke?". Although, the guy with the cane is in all of my other dreams, including the one with the circus midgets and Petra Verkiak. Still, It just seems like he might feel like he'll never win the crowd back and maybe thats gettin old to him. idk

Difficult? Why? You really think it's THAT hard to find a coach who can't have back to back winning seasons and make the Playoffs every now and then? I think that's quite doable if you do your homework and don't hire a dud.

Don't hang on to the past because you're afraid that's the best you'll ever have. If Fox is the best we'll ever have, we all may as well find a new team to cheer for.

I think only a handful of coaches have always had a 7-9 or better record through almost a decade of coaching.

I'll say this, fans should not be able to predict what is coming with such accuracy....just imagine what legit NFL minds can figure out. Delhomme definately lost something after Tommy John but Fox/Davidson make it tough on a QB here. Sure there ain't load of WR talent but we need some better coaching.

"And I am beginning to believe the problem is Davidson and his vanilla offense."

I said the same thing about Dan Henning... until he left and look what he's doing with the Miami offense. Davidson is Henning 2.0 with Fox holding the keys to the handcuffs.

"FYI- Fox has a lot to do with what happens on draft day, to think otherwise is just stupid."

Nobody is saying he doesn't have anything to do with it, he just doesn't have the final say. All one need do is look at the idiocy of giving up a 2nd rounder for a project in Edwards. Would Fox ever in a million years agreed to such a thing? I think not.

as Dan Morgan said, Fox has his finger on everything. Coordinators may change but they are all gonna run a Fox version.

Maybe John Fox hasn't been signed to an contract extension for the same reason Deangelo Williams, Jon Beason or anyone else has been extended this year?

they weren't told they wouldn't be held to there contract and could go get employement elsewhere. Fox just couldn't find a job and game back to do 1 final season.

If I had a girlfriend and we both knew they were only going to be together for one more year and no matter what we were breaking up mutually, then why even wait?

It's a little easy to stay for one more year when you're getting millions for it.

Except that during a lockout year (2011) players don't get paid. All coaches on the staff are like management and would still collect a salary during the lockout... care to guess how much money JR will save by not having to pay a coaching staff during the lockout?
