I hope there is a plan. JR needs to be doing things not through a businessman's eyes or a fans eyes but through a PSL owner's eyes. The NFL can kiss his ass all he wants and can give a team to anyone who kisses their's back but without money and support it just isn't happening. I agree with you Kurb as of now I am not buying poo, not attending ONE home game which feels bad but seeing as prices somehow went up and spending went way WAY down there is no reason to, I can support my team from my TV. If after years to come we are somehow able to hold onto our insulted stars and sign more great players I'll gladly say I was wrong and this was a great plan.

I know it's more likely than not but what if there is no lockout?

Small minds see whats wrong right now. Great minds see whats wrong with the future. The big picture come into play here. Have you ever heard of a company where the workers make more then the CEOs....

You are right there, for the fans (little guys) are getting serious ass fuged with a pine cone right now, while the big boss still makes all his cash no matter what.

kalil, beason, williams in that order.

maybe charles johnson but that might not be necessary and can probably wait to find out.

beyond that we will be fine either way.

Damnit man....I just said that.

I think we can win.. but we could have won a lot more with BM.. and cap space would have been perfectly fine... WIN, WIN...

Boldin really would have been the ideal fit here.

But thats another argument.

Sure, but my question is "Isn't that a pretty big gamble ?" For us yea. For JR who gets 100's of millions no matter what our record, not really.

Like I said if the diabolical plan works, someone bump this thread and I will tell everyone I was wrong.

either way is a gamble and would be reason for people starting threads complaining about what could go wrong.

if he were spending money like some of those other teams were doing...over paying for these FA players that have been signed this year then we would have a good bit of complaining as people looked at the long term and saw how much of the cap was burned on these players and that we would be missing out on some great possible FAs next year.

what if we gave someone like miles austin some ridiculous contract (like he got and didn't deserve, imo) only to find out that there wasn't any football next year so we gave ended up giving him $25.5 mil for just one year (unless you count the guaranteed $18mil with it in which case its over $40mil.)

people are going to complain and/or worry about either outcome. the grass is always greener on the other side of the argument.

Another interesting note.

Players doing their little performance Thursday night, showing unity.

JR makes this big speech, refuses to spend a dime. Other owners basically say GTFO and go spend money and sign big time guys.

okay just looked it up, speculation was that Peppers was offered $14 million a season which he turned down(obviously.)

Brandon Marshall's contract guarantees him less money than that per season, and so does Boldins.

I feel ya, but to me its better to try and swim to shore and drown, than tread water, hoping for a boat of nypho Marrisa Miller clones to come save you and still drown.

i actually do agree with that. i also thnk that housh would have been a good addition for the short term. boldin would have been really sweet across from smith for years, though. it would have been hard to find a better and tougher couple of WRs in the league than those two.

i do also wish that we would go ahead and lock those three players up, as well. i don't see any harm whatsoever in that.
