-Just just spent our last draft on picking up 3 WRs...so no #1 on them.

-We will have a hole at CB if Marshall leaves after this year which he probably will at this point.

-Greg Hardy is beasting and we already invested in E.Brown.

-DT....Hells f***ing yes.

DT or CB, spend that pick on either!

This team is a mess. Other than linebacker or running back, you take the best player available.

I wouldn't draft a WR in the 1st, 2nd or 3rd round... takes too long to develop and we need help now. I would much rather see us trade picks for a proven commodity at WR then see us spend picks on one, especially since we're going young at QB and our best WR is on the wrong side of 30.

We need the most help at DT in my opinion. At good DT will make a CB better, it works the other way around as well (coverage sack) but it more frequently works from the DT making the CB better side of the equation (more pressure up front = less time in coverage). A good penetrating DT also makes the DE's better because it forces the QB out of the pocket and sets the DE's up for the sack.

I'm a Tarheel, so I'm hoping all this NCAA stuff with Marvin Austin causes him to slip down the draft boards right into our hands. I'd say we take the Tampa approach and draft two quality DT's to shore up our defense.

i agree with this. we have invested far too much in WRs this past year. i'd rather us focus on something else and if none of the million choices we have on the roster this year pan out then go out and get someone in FA. the FA class should be good and we'll have money to do it. it just makes sense to go that route.

If there is no CBA in place and there is a lockout, do they still hold the draft?

There are alot of different ways we could go. WR, TE, OG, OT, DE, DT, CB, S all wouldn't be out of the question. All depends on who is on the board.

i would probably have to say either CB (replacing marshall) or DT next year. there will be some pretty solid CB choices there in the top 10 picks (where we probably will be choosing from).

i'd like to go with Prince Amukamara (how great would it be having a captain and a prince in our secondary?)

DT just doesn't look to be all that great of a class next year. this year would have been the year to draft one if we had an earlier pick.

Does he call himself Prince or is there just an elaborate character on his jersey?

I don't think we need WR at all. We just drafted at least 3 guys in Lafell, Edwards and Gettis. You can't hit the same position multiple times every year. You have to see if the guys you picked turn out to be anything. Nothing about Lafell says bust. We all knew Edwards would be a project since he's switching positions and Gettis looks to be of some value.

I think our biggest need is DB especially since Marshall sucks and will be gone (I can only hope). A first round pick in that area will really help our defense.

DT is a need because we really need that push up the middle to push the QB so our DE can get to him. We ok against the run with our DT but we don't get a lot of pressure up the middle. I'm fine with our DE with Hardy, Brown, and Johnson.

LB is probably the best position on defense especially if a certain stud comes back from his knee injury.

Bring in a good vet at QB and I mean someone who could run the team if Clausen is a bust. Like the Ravens did with getting Bulger.

We can always draft a few more O-linemen late because we seem to be pretty good at hitting on them.

We're just really young right now. If even half of our young picks turn out to be ballers we'll be back in no time.

Draft WR's with our first seven picks. One of them will turn out to be decent. I hope.

this is the only option if we draft for a WR.. lol

to think drafting a WR is the answer is crazy by this point.. we should have made a play for someone already.

one thing is for sure.. WR is our biggest need, however we go about it.. one thing that has to happen is succeeding in FILLING THAT ROLE.. trying without success is not an option anymore.. FA is the only way at this point, on top of drafting someone...

Really? You want us to take a Center, LG, LT, RT, quarterback, TE, fullback, or FS (Martin's position)? No I think I'll focus on the D-line, Wide-reciever, and corner positions with our first round pick. Other than that I agree.

Thanks again for your positive attitude Sam Mills Fan!! Just when you say Smitty's career is over with you hammer us with another great one :thumbsup:

And CATMAN I thoroughly agree with the Marvin comment. Although I really hate it for him, his draft stock could plummet--fingers crossed he'll be available in the third round. At the right time in the draft I could see us taking any of the UNC defensive players....except Brown he is awful I can't stand him.

Kicker and Tight End (trade down)

Seriously: BPA within those four categories maybe not WR though.

id be in favor of drafting a wr if there is a sure thing still available....if not gotta go with any of the 3 (CB, DT, OL) that has an immediate impact player...it would be nice if we had a few lineman who could pass protect rather than being great run blockers and average-below average pass blockers
