Bleacher Report: "Fox fired a shot over the bow at team owner, jerry Richardson."

Here is an interesting article/opinion on Fox, suggesting what many of us already suspected: Richardson's tight pocketbook helped dig Fox into a hole.

"...Fox Begins To Fight Back"

Richardson seems to be the anti-architect of this failed season. I am sure that even he is surprised at the slide. This still does not fully exonerate Fox's "coaching through the motions", but Fox may be just frustrated and being passive aggressive---protesting and mentally distancing himself from the situation the only way he knows how. Who knows?

To sum up:

Recently Fox, was asked if he thought, "it is what it is." Fox then, said what he really meant to say. He said, "Maybe."

That maybe meant, something. It's pretty obvious to anyone who, knows Fox. That it means he finally, is rebelling against Richardson.

All through school I wanted, to write. But I was never allowed to in the school paper. Now I have, Bleacher Report. The result? The worst article Delhommey has read today is owned by me.

You're definitely in a position to say that Fox is "coaching through the motions."

same, though 2008 took away that "fire fox" mentality away from me. However I wanted him gone after 2009 when we went on that streak with moore, even though most of this board wanted him to stay another season

This is the nature of the NFL. When you're a head coach about to get the axe, it's always best to throw somebody else under the bus on your way out of town to distance yourself from any potential backlash. That way, when your new team hires you then the fans can feel good about a situation they have no idea about and say, "John Fox had his hands tied by management. With real talent, he'll coach the hell out of OUR team", until they find out that his stale and tired conservative coaching style will follow him to whatever locale he selects after we cut his sorry ass loose.

Jerry Richardson is no saint in all this, as it's a mulligan year in which he's preparing for league negotiations, but John Fox couldn't coach an offense out of a paper bag and that has always been a problem except when Steve Smith has, by force of will, taken this team on his back.

Yes, Coach Fox. This team sucks because it dropped all those dead weight veterans you had last year that provided you with that awesome losing record and were only another year older and most of them didn't even get picked up. That was really the problem here. Not the total lack of coaching creativity to best utilize the talent you DO have, but bemoaning the old decrepit players you used to know how to coach who are no longer here.

This fact will obviously come as a suprise to many many fans on this board...

John fox does NOT lay down his sword.

Nor do his teams.
