Connor will compete. That being said, where he was drafted has nothing to do with whether he'll be a starter or not.

On defense yes you are correct.
He should get an extension as soon as possble next season, go ahead and lock him up for awhile.

He can and will be the Ray Lewis of this D. Leader, vocal and by example.

If we don't upgrade the D-line hopefully he won't whine like Lewis did because all of a sudden he has to take on blockers to make a play instead of being able to just run freely to the ball carrier. It's amazing how good you can look when there's no one to block you.

Beason also seems to have formed a relationship with Smith. Maybe Smith's loyalty, drive, and energy are rubbing off on the young linebacker.

Beason is something to look forward to. So is our offensive line, and our running backs.
Also hoping Harris has another season like his first with us.

Diggs will likely be back. He has a very cap friendly number of a little over a million for 2009. Not so sure about Landon Johnson though. Conventional wisom is he is gone as well as Lucas if we can restructure. Connor will play and is cheap under his rookie contract. He could play middle or outside linebacker although he is more of a natural middle backer. Still he might be like Beason and fill in where needed if the middle is taken.

I think our Linebacker core as a whole is something to look forward to. Im hoping we can land someone like Kaluka Maiava in the middle rounds to replace Diggs in 2010. Im also looking forward to seeing Double Trouble tear it up and hopefully Harris and Godfrey forcing fumbles like crazy next year.

Yet he had 3 interceptions.

So him having 3 INT's means he didn't get beat in coverage constantly?
