From jonbeason.com

That goes back to the Giants game when they were able to run against us after halftime. I’ll tell you this, it’s about 50-50 who I would want to play if we beat Arizona. We want another shot at the Giants to prove we can beat them. But it would be great to play the NFC Championship Game at home. It’s the biggest game you can have at your place because the Super Bowl is at a neutral site, and we’re playing really well at home this season.

so sad.... :(

I don't see how that comment means he was really looking ahead. You can't tell me every single one of those guys (hell most of the fans included) wasn't anxious to get another shot at the Giants.

Besides... he said "if we beat Arizona"... it wasn't like he said "I can't wait until we play one of those teams after we steamroll the Cardinals!"

he said something like that in response to a question on wfnz, I couldn't find exactly where you saw that either at first glance to get the context of the paragraph that you quoted.

na sounds to me he was thinking a lot about who would be the better opponent to face after a game he hadn't played yet. he should have spent those 20 minutes figuring out how to convince trgoshit to run a better defense. just kidding about the last part but he should have audibled to something more effective than him matching up against fitz. SINCE WHEN DOES ZONE WORK ON TALL WR CROSSING THE MIDDLE OF THE FIELD??

I'd heard him on the radio the week before the Cards game talking about whether he'd like to play the Giants or Eagles. I thought then that was a bad sign . . .

There were a ton on this board who were so confident that it was scary.
If looking past a team is what the so called game plan was, then I would hate to see what taking some team lightly would be.

Everyone thinks about it a bit, it isn't like he said

"ya know, I'm not sure who I want to play after we beat Arizona"

I'd say 90% of us on this board were looking ahead. Myself included.

Beason probably thought what we all thought: that our coaches could come up with a game plan that didn't involve putting the game solely on Jake's shoulders.
