Jordan Gross needs to sign a long time deal w/ the Panthers ASAP. His continuing delay will start to hinder how management is able to deal with other positions. Gross is a good player, it is why we franchised him last year, but it is now time for him to man up and get a deal done.

Gross will get Franchised over Peppers b/c Gross wants to be here. By getting a deal done w/ Gross, we will be able to Franchise Peppers instead and get some value back in a trade of some type. And since Gross wants to be here, it would serve him and organization to lock up a long term deal, now.

I;m sure they are talking.

They were really close last year, just one detail kept him from signing, God only knows what that was.

He will cost more now, but is worth a big deal IMO. LT's are really hard to find, and keeping this O intact is our most important thing right now.

Keep this in mind...this is Gross's one chance to make the big bucks and set himself up for the rest of his life. He'd be stupid not to listen to other offers. Hopefully he stays in Carolina. He's not just a great player. He's a great guy, too.

Contracts don't normally get done this time of year. Wait until after the Superbowl, and before free agency.

We can't franchise anyone until Feb 5th so there's plenty of time.

We better not franchise Gross. We need to sign him to a long term deal. Hopefully it'll be Peppers that we franchise.

Don't think Gross will play along, though.

In the Fanchising or the long term deal ?

If we give him a nice fat contract I don't see why he wouldn't.

I have a feeling the team wanted to see how Gross played on the left side this season, before offering up the monster deal he wanted. They franchised him, and he delivered. Now, the team won't hesitate on locking him up long term.

I'll be very surprised if he walks in FA. Could he get more money elsewhere? Probably. Any good FA that hits the market gets overpaid. But, will he want to leave? I doubt it. I think he'll be here for a while.

We'll lock him up, I don't see us losing Peppers AND him. Gross played great this year, he proved all the doubters wrong (me included) and has earned the paycheck. Not to mention he's a leader on that line and he has fire and heart. It's not every day you see o-lineman get excited during a game after a good run play, but Gross does it a lot.
